Mature Student Entry. Applicants falling in this category
must be over the age twenty five (25), with a minimum
five (5) years experience in a specialized area of the
industry, for e.g. Hospitality, Accounts, Construction and
Information Technology. Applicants will be accepted based
on the assessment of a Portfolio (to include certificates of
achievement, positions held along with job descriptions

Specialist area of study: Allows successful applicants the
opportunity to study for a master’s degree or PhD in the
social sciences, humanities and arts and some areas of
pure/applied sciences. No medicine, law or clinical psychology studies can be supported at this time. The programme covers a year of expense, with renewal of funding possible for an
additional year (maximum funding for two years). The
research programme (NEXUS) and professional enrichment
programme (Humphrey Fellowship) and non-degree granting
exchanges.
Eligibility/Qualifications: Upper-second class or first-class
honours at the level of a bachelor’s degree, at an accredited
local university, is a minimum qualifier. Persons with extensive United States (US) experience (have physically resided
and /or studied for six or more months in the US, are not eligible. For this reason, persons who have already started a programme of study in the US are ineligible. The applicant
should be a Jamaican citizen, but those having American
(dual) citizenship or permanent residency status (green card
holder) are ineligible.
Age: The programme is intended to contribute to the development of a national pool of persons with a high level of
training in a variety of areas. The programme enables graduate students, young professionals to conduct research and
study in the US and experience the rich and varied culture of
the US.

Jamaica Energy Partners recognizes the need for academic advancement in order
to foster economic development in Jamaica. The Company remains committed to
assist in laying the building blocks for academic success in the parish of St. Catherine
in which it operates. Two recipients will benefit from a scholarship of J$ 250,000.00
each per school year, payable per semester, covering tuition, books and material.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this policy is to provide a framework within which to guide Jamaica Energy
Partners in the provision, management, implementation and disbursement of education funds for children.
Funds will not exceed One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00) and will be disbursed on
an annual basis to eighteen students of excellence.
