WOLF THEISS - ONE REGION, ONE FIRM
Since starting out in Vienna 60 years ago, Wolf Theiss has
grown into one of the largest law firms in Central, Eastern
and South-Eastern Europe (CEE/SEE). We now employ over
340 lawyers, working across numerous practice areas in 13
countries. During this time, we have worked on many cases
that have broken new ground and through a combination of
local knowledge together with international capabilities and
commercial know-how have paved the way for our clients’
success.
PROCUREMENT
The procurement process can be a risky undertaking, for both public and private contracting
parties. We in the Wolf Theiss Procurement team strive to ensure compliance with procurement
rules while minimizing risk. We advise contracting authorities (public authorities and other public
institutions) as well as private bidders (companies that are interested in doing business with
contracting authorities) on all aspects of national and European procurement law. The practice
group also regularly represents clients in disputes before national and European courts and
specialized public procurement review authorities.
We are frequently retained by public bodies and public institutions as well as sector-specific
contracting entities (such as utilities) to prepare and carry out tender procedures. We advise on
the structure of tender procedures and on the drafting of tender documents, including selection
and award criteria and their respective agreements.
We also advise private bidders wishing to participate in public tenders and provide services such
as ensuring the compliance of the bid, negotiating with contracting authorities and challenging
unfair tender provisions and award decisions.
