Development year plan School activity: Mackie rugby club will offer all local primary schools and all academies a block of rugby sessions. This will be offered throughout the school year. Primary schools will be offered 6-8 week blocks of fun rugby activities, as well as The 6 week Foods standards programme in the Portlethen cluster. All primary clusters will finish their blocks with a festival. Mackie will also offer all academies in the region 6-8 week blocks of contact rugby pe sessions, this will be offered throughout term 1 and 2 of the school year. Academies will have local tournaments and fixtures. Academy pupils will also be offered a youth coaching programme to allow them to experience coaching and gain a qualification. The aim of this is to promote coaching opportunities for the club at mini level. Coach education: Mackie development will offer all club coaches the chance to attend updates ran at the mini level and youth level, Concentrating on key national themes and principles of play. There will also be opportunities for coaches to attend regional and national updates supplied by the SRU. All coaches and volunteers will sit through the rugby ready courses set for the start of the season. And will have chance to sit level 1s and 2 courses throughout the year. Club activity: In the first half of the season, Mackie rugby club will get support from myself at all levels if required. I will coach at s1,s2 level to help the development of the youth section as well as offering sessions at mini level. I will work with schools to gain more players into the club and keen the bridges strong throughout. In the second half of the season i will be taking 15 players at u15u16 level who have shown commitment, skill and focus through the first half of the season. We will host our own club rugby academy where these players will be offered specialist sessions and coaching to get the best of their ability out. Mearns academy 4-6pm Term 3: S1-2 u16 and u18 ten aside game. Tuesday 11th February. Redcloak 4-6pm Term 4: S1-2 u16 and u18 ten aside. Wednesday the 12th June . Mearns academy 4-6pm tri schools annual tournament end of June at redcloak. There will also be regional events like s1-2 10s, u16 u18 7s, and Grampian 7s throughout the year. 3.
