The Goal
Be the first player to match your five playing cards with ANY COMBINATION OF YOUR EIGHT Friends and Presents.
How to Get the Game Started
Friends Card
Presents Card
Place the board in the middle of the play area.
Select game pieces and place them on the Start space.
Every player SECRETLY picks one Friends card and one
Presents card and places them in the card stands side
by side, so no other player can see them.
Shuffle the remaining Friends and Presents cards
TOGETHER and place them face down on the board.
Shuffle the deck of playing cards and deal each player
five cards face down. (Cards can be held or placed
secretly in front of your Friends and Presents cards.)
Place the remaining playing cards face down on the
middle of the board.
The youngest player goes first. Play moves clockwise.

How to Play the Game
On your turn...
Look at your five playing cards and see how many match your eight numbered Friends and Presents.
(You may have several matches. You may have no matches. BUT, cards can change on every turn!)
Roll the die. If you land on…
PICK
Pick the top playing card from the face down OR face up pile, and then discard any playing card you
don’t need on top of the face up pile. (There is no face up card on the first turn.)
PASS
ALL players (at the same time) must pass ANY ONE of their playing cards to the player to their right.
HELP!
You get to ask ALL players for ANY friend or present you need.
•
•
•
•
If a player has the card you need, then you take it and give that player a card you don’t need.
If no players have the card you need, pick the top card from the face down pile and then discard.
If you need the top card on the face up pile, simply take that card and then discard.
You can use the board to point out any of the friends or presents you need.
NEW
Someone is getting a new Friends or Presents card...and you get to decide who! You or any player you
choose must pick the top card on the Friends and Presents card pile. Whoever picks the new card must
place their old Friends or Presents card (depending on what was picked) at the bottom of the pile.
DIG!
Pick any one friend or present you need from the face up pile and discard any card you don’t need on
top of the face up pile. If there are no cards you need in the face up pile, then simply pick a card from
the face down pile and discard. (Put the cards back neatly on the face up pile.)
How to Win the Game
The first player to match their five cards with ANY COMBINATION OF
THEIR EIGHT FRIENDS AND PRESENTS yells ‘This is the Greatest Day Ever!’
and wins the game.
• It does not have to be your turn to win the game.
• Two or more players can win at the same time on a PASS space.
For Longer Game Play
The first player to win two rounds of play wins
the game. Or...
Grab a pen and paper. The first player to get
15 points wins. Points are accumulated at
the end of each round of play as follows:
• 1 point for every matching card
Notes on Play

•
You should have five playing cards at the start and end of every turn.
There is one card for every friend and present in the game.
Some games are quick. Other games are longer. Every game is fun!
Younger kids may have an easier time playing with four playing cards.
If you go through the deck and there is no winner, shuffle the playing
cards, place them face down and continue.
