Intervention and Enrichment (W.I.N.)

Intervention and
Enrichment (W.I.N.)
What is W.I.N. Time?
•
W.I.N. is an acronym for WHAT I NEED, and is an essential component to our systematic PLC+ Process.
W.I.N. time occurs daily, is built into our master schedule and is used for students who need intervention or
enrichment within a grade level specific domain. We will use system-wide screening data annually to
determine the primary content/domain for which each grade level will focus on. Primarily the focus areas
will be reading and math.
•
Teachers must utilize CFA’s to identify students who need additional time and support to master essential
learning’s. At Denver Elementary students are given as much time and support as necessary to move to
MASTERY! (By the kid – By the standard)
•
W.I.N. is like providing the right medication to a person when sick or ill we need to be timely and targeted –
for example, you wouldn’t take high blood pressure medicine for a headache – its not what you need. The
more targeted we can get, the better the results!
