Ready, Set…Let`s Get Wet! 2014 Board of Directors

April 2014
Creating summer fun in Davidson since 1961….
Ready, Set…Let’s Get Wet!
Brrrrr. It has been such a chilly
spring, but if you are like me, that
only means you are paying even
more attention to the countdown
to opening day. It is always exciting to anticipate Memorial Day
Opening weekend!
Our Board
On behalf of the entire membership, I would like to thank Debbie
Barteldt, for doing such a fantastic job as Treasurer/Membership
over the last three years. She has
done an amazing job keeping our
memberships and our financial
books organized and we appreciate the time she has given to
TSH.
We welcome several new board
members: Terry Bentley, Vivian
Cannon, Shawn Copeland and
Alan Martin. Our remaining board
members are returning from
2013, some in different roles, and
enthusiastic for the new year.
The group has been hard at work
for many months, getting the
pool ready for our 2014 season.
Five-Year Plan Outlined
We have been discussing physical improvements for the current
season, as well as a plan for the
next five (5) years. Current projects underway and on schedule
for completion by opening day
are the diving board, completion
of fence, landscaping and renovation the guard house. This
fall, barring any unexpected
maintenance issues, we plan to
start bathroom renovations. The
list of projects is outlined below.
If you have ideas about any of
these projects, please share
them with a board member. We
will prioritize projects based on
wear and tear, costs, etc.
Assessments
to Cover Improvements
To carry us through our five
year plan for projects, we will be
assessing each member to
cover the costs of the improvements and renovations. Since
the infusion of funds will not be
needed until the bathroom renovations begin in the fall of
2014, assessments won’t be
charged until later this year.
The bylaws state that the
amount can not be more than
$200/year and we anticipate the
amount being lower than that.
The board is doing due diligence to keep the assessment
amount as low as possible and
will have a budget calculation
later this summer. We believe
our investment will ensure that
fun will continue for many years
ahead.
We are all very excited and we
thank you all for continued enthusiastic support! Please feel
free to contact any of us on the
Board. We are excited to dive
into another great year!
See you on Opening Day
at “The Hole!”

with friends and meeting new people. I can’t wait for another great summer and good times here. It’s going to be a great one!” If you have not

develop this rewarding sport and be a part of a fun team. Whatever
your skill level, we can help you improve! Look for more information

When can kids visit the pool on their own?
The board & pool staff frequently get asked, “At what age can my children visit the pool without me?” Our policy states that elementary
school children (5th grade & younger) must be under the supervision
of an authorized responsible person* while at the pool.
Check the TSH website for our complete policy on this and how we’ve
defined who can serve as the responsible chaperone. We want to be
safe, and want our pool staff to be empowered, so please take a look.
