City Council Makes Choice to Fill 3rd Ward Seat
DELAWARE – Delaware City Council Monday night selected Jim Browning to fill the 3rd
Ward seat left vacant by the resignation of Councilman Joe DiGenova, who died March 19
after being ill for several months.
Browning was chosen from a field of six residents. He will officially be sworn in at the May
22 City Council meeting and serve until the next municipal election in November 2017.
Browning plans to run in November to fill the remainder of the term, which runs through
November 2019.
Browning was co-chair of the City’s transportation levy that was defeated in November. He
has been a Delaware resident for 13 years.
