secondbase.ca New Board Members About Us: Second Base Youth Shelter provides necessary and emergency food, clothing and shelter to homeless youth, aged 16 through 21. Operating on Kennedy Road in Scarborough, the Second Base facility also provides counselling and the opportunity for local youth to become self-reliant within the community. In addition to the emergency shelter, Second Base operates a Housing, Information and Referral Centre (Dropin) that services both shelter residents and youth from the community at large. Proven skills in governance, board and non-profit experience a definite asset. Time: Board members meet approx. 10-12 times per year and also contribute to committee work.
