From Sgt Ken Winslade Royal Air Force Linton-on-Ouse ATC Linton-on-Ouse YORK YO30 2AJ Tel: 01347 847511 Mil: 95871 7511 Email: [email protected] 20 Jul 12 LORD DERAMORE (BATTLE OF BRITAIN) GOLF COMPETITION – 14 SEPTEMBER 2012 I would like to extend an invitation to participate in this years’ Lord Deramore Battle of Britain Golf Competition on Friday 14 September 2012. The cost will be a minimum donation of £25 per person, (£10 for Fulford members) which includes prizes with all proceeds going to York Branch and Welfare of RAF Association charities. A raffle will also be run on the day. This event has now been going for over 50 years and is still as popular as ever. Historically the event has been competed for by RAF Units around the UK as well as RAFA and the host clubs of Easingwold and Fulford. The event this year will take place at Fulford Golf Club and takes the form of a 4 person team stableford. Teams will be mixed for the tee offs and played as 3 balls wherever possible. Maximum playing handicap is 24 for all competitors. Starting times are available from approx 0800 to 1500 and every attempt will be made to allocate times as close as possible to those requested. Priority will be given to those travelling furthest with the early times being given to local entrants. It is expected that the presentation will take place at approximately 2000 and if your team or one of its members is in the running then you should make arrangements for someone to be present at the prize giving. You may enter as many teams as you like but places will be allocated on a first come first served basis on receipt of a cheque for the full amount made payable to ‘Service Funds RAF Linton on Ouse’. This must be received by 7 September 2012. Tee times will then be allocated and promulgated so do include contact details with your entrance fee. An email address would greatly help this process. I look forward to your response and wish you all the best for what I am sure will be an excellent day in aid of an extremely worthy charity.
