“Achievement for all in a stimulating and caring environment” Stathern Primary School Newsletter April 2017 01949 860316 www.stathern.leics.sch.uk Dear parents, pupils and members of the community, welcome to our April newsletter. What a fantastic second half it’s been to our Spring Term with so many exciting events and learning experiences for the children. We’ve enjoyed a fantastic whole school trip to the Think Tank in Birmingham as part of a brilliant Science Week organised by Mrs Waller. It was great to see so many of our parents working alongside their children during Science Open Morning. Looking forward to the Summer Term, alongside all the sporting opportunities on offer, will be showcasing our KS2 production appearing in June, further developing our Forest School’s Program in the shape of Mrs Marksman attending the Level 3 Forest Schools Training, and enjoying our 200mb broadband connection along with new wireless infrastructure funded by FOSS to enhance the children’s learning opportunities. We wish our Year 2’s well as they head off to Beaumanor for 2 days on their residential and we are very much looking forward to our Year 4/5 residential delivered by the Bushcraft Company. Watch out for a healthy eating/snack drive as we seek our second Gold Sports Mark and finally, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new children and families as our wonderful school continues to grow Mr Lee Stathern Duathlon – Sun 19th March Premier League Trophy – Fri 24th March A huge thank you to all those who supported the 2017 Stathern Duathlon this year, including competitors, organiser, marshals and school children, to make it the best duathlon ever!
