Entries will only be accepted via the online registration forms which can be found on the CSABA Website.
ALL PLAYERS will be required to self-register their details online this season. Players who pay their fees online will
automatically fulfill this requirement.
Conditions of Entry:
All teams/players understand that entry is subject to the following rules and conditions.
Team contacts must sign the declaration to this effect on the entry form.

The CSABA is an Alcohol Free Organisation.
The Latrobe Leisure Centre Churchill is an Alcohol Free Venue.
Teams that have proven unreliable in the past, may be subject to a bond.

(2) Fees/Registration
1. Registration fees are due before the first game you play. Committee members will
be available to accept payment before these games. Games in which teams play
unregistered/unaffiliated players, without committee permission will be penalized.
2. At no point will any player receive a refund of insurance or registration fees under
any circumstances.
3. Players must be registered in the Basketball Australia – National Registration
Database prior to taking the court for their first game. This MUST be completed at
the Basketball Office.

(3) Competition Rules:
1. Committee decisions regarding the grading of teams are final. The committee
reserves the right to regrade teams within the first three rounds of the season.
2. Zero Tolerance: All players are reminded that we employ a zero tolerance policy
toward umpire abuse.
a. Our umpires have been instructed to immediately penalize and dissent,
offensive language or constant disputation of decisions with a technical
foul.
b. Repeat offenders will face tribunal report.
c. Players are also reminded that posts relating to basketball on Social Media
can result in tribunal charges.
3. Requests for games times, and players who wish to play in more than one team will
be accommodated where possible, but are not binding.
4. Players are permitted to play in two grades. Players can only play in the grade
immediately below their highest grade, and no team can have more than two (2)
players from a higher grade playing for their team.
a. Exception: if the committee regrades a team affected by this rule after
round three, this rule shall not apply.
5. Each team must provide a competent scorekeeper or timekeeper for their game.
Failure to provide a competent scorer will result in a forfeit. Umpires/Committee
will not score for teams.
6. Games will start at the advertised time listed on Fox Sports Pulse.
7. A game will be deemed a forfeit if the team has fewer than four players on the
court 10 minutes after its scheduled start time.
a. Late Start will be penalised
8. A team forfeiting a scheduled game must give notice before 12pm on the day of the
game, otherwise a forfeit fine may be administered.
9. A team that has forfeited more than twice in a season, or three times in a row,
without sound reason will be removed from the competition.
(4) Uniform Requirements:
1. Legal playing numbers are 4-15, 20-25, 30-35, 40-45 and 50-55. Numbers other
than these are not permitted. Numbers 0 and 00, 1, 2 and 3 are not valid.
2. Uniforms must be must be of the same predominate colours and design.
3. Basketball shorts with no pockets must be worn. Pants, skirts, leggings etc. are not
acceptable. Each team member must wear the same colour shorts.
4. Compression Wear (Skins, 2XU etc.):
a. Compression Stockings for the upper leg must end above the knee.
b. Compression Stockings for the lower leg must end below the knee.
c. Full-length compression pants are not permitted.
d. Compression Sleeves are permitted.

e. All compression wear must be a neutral colour (beige/black/white) or the
same colour as the uniform.
Playing tops must not have sleeves.
T-shirts must not be worn underneath uniforms.
Headbands made of plastic or metal are not permitted.
All jewellery must be removed.
Fingernails must be cut short (no longer than tips of fingers). Fake nails are also not
permitted.
All players must following the above uniform rules by round 3, or the opposition team
will be awarded 2 points for each breach.
(5) Fill-In Provision:
1. Fill-in players may only be used to genuinely prevent a forfeit.
2. Teams may have no more than TWO eligible fill-in players per game.
3. If your team has a fill-in, your team must have no more than five (5) players for
that game.
4. Fill-in players must be notified to the committee.
5. Fill-in players must be able to provide proof of BVC affiliation, or will be
required to pay this fee.
6. A fill-in may only play three (3) games for your team before they will be
required to become fully registered and pay the registration fee. Fill-in fees
already paid will be deducted from the registration fee.
(6) Penalties:
Breaches of the Entry Conditions, Competition Rules, Association By-laws and the
Basketball Victoria Codes of Conduct may be penalized by any combination of the
following:
a. A fine or bond of up to $150,
b. A loss of championship points,
c. A penalty of game points,
d. Forfeiture of games,
e. Suspension or removal from the competition.
