JPI Urban Europe guideline to process requests for Letter of
Support of third parties (e.g. H2020 projects)
JPI Urban Europe is a European, transnational research & innovation program on
sustainable urban development which builds upon the commitments of European
members states (or associated states). Since one of our ambitions is to build up
capacity in Europe on urban matters and establish a strong inter- and
transdisciplinary research & innovation community we are interested in reaching out
to related activities or projects that might be financed by other sources.
In this context we receive requests to sign Letters of Support for H2020 project
proposals, for example. In order to be able to decide on such LoS we have defined a
procedure which should help the consortium to provide the required information
efficiently and ensure that JPI Urban Europe can make its decision in time.
The following information has to be provided to JPI Urban Europe:




Abstract of the project describing its ambition, proposed concept or main
activities, expected outcome
Information on the consortium
Information on how the project wants to liaise with JPI Urban Europe and
support the implementation of its strategic agenda (e.g. reference to one or
more of the JPI Urban Europe thematic priorities, cooperation with the Urban
Europe Research Alliance, connecting to JPI Urban Europe projects, …)
Information on what contribution is expected from JPI Urban Europe (e.g.
participation in an Advisory Board, participation at workshops, involvement of
JPI UE experts,…)
This information should be sent to the Management Board, contact point MB
secretariat ([email protected]). The MB will assess its opportunities to
support these projects according to their strategic relevance and the available
capacities. A response will be provided within 2 weeks.
