Dear students,
Please register for the Placement Test and the language courses online via OPAL. The exact
procedure is as follows:
1. TU Chemnitz (TUC) – University Computer Centre (URZ): Request/Activate Your
Username and Password (First-Year Students)
3. Taking the Test
Please come to the Placement Test according to your registration. Double-check the room and
time, please.

The University Computer Centre (URZ) of TU Chemnitz (TUC) provides you with a

4. OPAL: Retrieving Test Result
Please register for the Placement Test during the time period specified below.

Important Information:
(1) If you do not register for the Placement Test within this time period, you cannot be admitted
to the test. You may register for the test in the following term again.
(2) Forfeiture clause: The result of the Placement Test allows you to register for courses of the
running or following term only. After this time, the test has to be repeated.
(3) You can find some texts from previous Placement Tests on the homepage of the Language
Centre (cf. page header of this flyer) in order to test and prepare yourself.
Retrieve your test result (all languages) in OPAL from Wednesday, 11 Oct 2017, at 12 noon (your
course is displayed in OPAL) and register for your course (English for all Faculties - EfaF).
Courses start as from Monday, 16 Oct. 2017.
