Dear Potential Sponsor –
Summerville Soccer Club (SSC) is seeking sponsors for our upcoming soccer season, which runs from
August 2015 through June 2016. In order to ensure a successful program for the youth of our
community, we rely on local businesses and organizations that serve our community to partner with us
in order to help underwrite the cost of our program. From signage around the club, to social media and
email marketing, our various sponsorship programs range from just $100 to $5,000 and help businesses
reach nearly 5,000 players, families and fans each year!
Founded in 1981, SSC has been providing youth soccer instruction and development for more than 30
years. Home to approximately 1,100 recreational and competitive soccer players, aged 4-18, SSC’s goal
is to provide the best opportunity for children of all ages to develop and enhance their soccer abilities,
while maintaining a level of enjoyment and love for the game. We dedicate ourselves to employing the
best staff possible in order to aid in the development and education of our players and coaches.
Additionally, we continually strive not only to develop great players and athletes, but also to develop
great people and leaders that enhance our community.
We look forward to promoting your business to our players, their families and our fans, as well as the
10,000+ guests that soccer brings to the tri-county area each year through league games, camps, clinics,
and tournaments. Funds raised through our organization are vital to the success of youth soccer in our
community. These contributions help reduce the cost of training, support player scholarships, and fund
capital improvements to our club’s facilities, allowing us to provide our players and their families the
best facility and equipment possible. Our sponsorship opportunities provide local businesses great
added value marketing and branding options - an incredible opportunity for a win-win relationship!
As one of the largest youth soccer clubs in the tri-county area, our sponsors have the ability to send
their message in a targeted manner, to a very diverse demographic.
Your tax-deductible sponsorship will go toward the costs of running a quality soccer program,
purchasing equipment, facility maintenance, scholarships & financial aid, tournament fees, etc.

All sponsorship donations must be received no later than September 1st, 2015 in order to be applied to
the current season; January 1st, 2016 for the spring 2016 season.

Who We Are
Summerville Soccer Club (SSC) was founded in 1981 with the vision of creating a soccer club that is
regionally recognized for competitiveness and character development. SSC is organized as a non-profit
501(c)3, youth soccer club and an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and South
Carolina Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA). Our organization serves the tri-county community by
actively promoting the growth of soccer and fostering that growth through training and various
opportunities to players of every age and level. Located in Summerville, SC, we have been providing
youth soccer instruction and development for more than 30 years and are one of the few Charleston
area clubs that owns and operates its own facility (unlike most which rely primarily on municipal fields).
Our goal is to provide the best opportunity for children of all ages to develop and enhance their soccer
abilities, technically and tactically, while maintaining a level of enjoyment and love for the game. We
dedicate ourselves to employing the best coaching staff possible in order to aid in the development and
education of our players and coaches. We strive not only to develop great players and athletes, but also
to develop great people and leaders that enhance our community.

What We Offer
SSC was created and exists to provide the best possible service to its players, regardless of whether the
player is highly ambitious or a casual recreational player seeking to keep fit and have fun. The focus of
our club is to spread our love and passion for the game to each individual player and their families
throughout our area, the state and beyond, by involving as many people as possible.
Recreational/Developmental (U4-U8):
First Kicks (U4) and Micro (U5-U8) soccer programs are entry level programs designed to promote the
enjoyment of soccer and the development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high level
competition. Teams play in an in-house league where participants have fun, learn the sport of soccer
and develop life and soccer skills. Coaches are volunteers who receive training and support from SSC
staff. At the older ages, players receive additional technical training through SSC’s association with
Coerver Soccer.
Academy (U8-U12):
The Academy program provides the developmental bridge between recreational soccer and competitive
(Select) soccer. In this program we form teams in the U8 – U12 age groups. Our Academy teams
participate in SCYSA’s Coastal League in various divisions and ultimately become part of our Select
program. Player development is the core focus of our Academy program and provides professional
instruction for players who have a strong desire to increase technical skills & learn more about tactical
aspects of the game. The Academy trainers follow an established curriculum that prepares the players
to compete at a higher level of soccer. The club currently has 24 academy teams (11 girls’ teams and 13
boys’ teams).
Select (U13-U18):
The Select program is for serious and committed players who desire an increased level of competition
from that offered in the Recreation program. Players have to be selected to a team. Standings are kept
and published. Travel is involved to away games and tournaments. All training is at the SSC Complex.
Teams either compete in the President’s Medal Soccer League (PMSL) or the South Carolina State
Challenge League (SCSCL). The club currently has 14 select teams (6 girls’ teams and 8 boys’ teams).
Buddy Soccer (all ages & abilities):
Buddy Soccer is a program for special needs players to participate in a weekly soccer game. In 10+
years, we have accommodated autistic children, children with downs syndrome, wheelchairs, and
children with numerous other challenges, but we have never had to turn a player away. The players can
be as young as 5. We try to play for about 8 weeks, or until it gets too cold for the players.
Academy & Select Goalkeeper Training:
Academy and Select goalkeeper training is offered on a weekly basis at no additional cost to players and
families. Prior goalkeeper trainers include former and active Charleston Battery goalkeepers.

Technical Skills Sessions:
Technical skills sessions are offered on a weekly basis for Academy players through SSC’s association
with Coerver Training. Additionally, Select teams receive technical training on an individual team basis,
following a curriculum stablished by SSC’s Executive Director and Director of Coaching.
Coerver Training:
SSC has contracted with Coerver technical training to provide a weekly technical lesson for Academy
players and older rec/developmental players. This program works to achieve excellence in each player
by focusing on individual techniques and skills necessary for higher level play. Levels of development
include ball mastery, receiving and passing, moves, speed, finishing, and group attack.

SSC Sponsorship Levels
Simply put, a sponsorship is a partnership. Your business receives exposure from thousands of players,
parents, relatives, coaches, fans, and community leaders. Additionally, your sponsorship serves to
promote your business, build an image of community support, and POSITIVELY impacts the youth in our
community.
Benefits by the Numbers:
1. Most SSC teams begin practice in July and continue until June 1st of the following year. On
average, SSC teams practice 3 times per week, per season (each season runs approximately 4
months).
2. SSC has approximately 1,100 players registered to play in the recreational and competitive
programs and these numbers continue to grow yearly.
3. SSC players come from in and around the tri-county area, representing over 8 different zip codes,
with the majority of our players residing in the immediate Summerville area.
4. SSC anticipates having 24 Academy teams and 17 Select teams for the 2015-2016 seasons 46% increase from Fall 2014/Spring 2015. Each team consists of approximately 13-18 players.
5. SSC anticipates having 45 recreational teams for the 2015-2016 seasons. Each team consists of
approximately 6-10 players.
6. SSC participates in approximately 8-10 games per team, per season, excluding tournaments.
7. For league play, SSC hosts teams from the tri-county area, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Beaufort,
Hilton Head, Walterboro, Aiken, Florence, etc.
8. SSC anticipates having 60 teams participate in our 2015 Labor Day Tournament. These teams
travel from all over the state, as well as surrounding states such as Georgia and North Carolina.
9. SSC’s soccer complex hosts a variety of soccer tournaments, including Stratford High Schools’
Azalea Tournament (16 teams), Coerver’s 5v5 tournament (34 teams), etc.
10. SSC’s primary method of communication to our players, families and the community is through
our website (www.summervillesoccerclub.com), email and social media accounts. We currently have
over 2,000 individual email addresses on our email distribution list, and our social media accounts
serve approximately 1,000 visitors.
As such, logo/ad placement on our website, social media outlets, parking lot fence, monthly newsletters,
clubhouse wall, tournament literature, etc. can provide thousands of opportunities for
exposure/viewings during the upcoming seasons.

How Sponsorships are Used:
1. Keeps participation costs affordable for players’ families. Our goal is to keep soccer affordable for the
players and their families. Although the cost per season is competitive with other sports in our area,
soccer is a two season sport. On an annual basis, this makes soccer more expensive. If a family has more
than two players, their annual cost could end up being substantial. Our sponsors make an enormous
contribution to the youth of our community by helping us keep soccer an affordable sport. A player’s
current season club dues range from $600 (Academy) to $550 (U15-18 Select); for those players that
play in both the fall and spring seasons, club dues are $900 (U13/14 Select). Last year, SSC was able to
provide financial aid to approximately 25 financial aid packages, totaling $15,000.
2. Pays for training and affiliation with various soccer organizations. SSC belongs to USSF and SCYSA.
These affiliations give SSC access to training material, clinics, courses for coaches and players. There are
costs incurred for our membership as well as participation. Sometimes these costs include facility rentals
for such programs as coaching license classes or registration fees for participants. Clinics are regularly
offered and encouraged for all coaches. Various levels of training are available and mandatory for
various levels of play. This enables SSC to offer a high standard of instruction to all of our players.
3. Pays for the continued upkeep of our privately owned and operated facilities. As SSC continues to
expand, we recognize the need for bigger and better facilities. With the continued support of our
sponsors, we are continuously developing plans for this expansion. Several of our capital improvements
include: lighting fields, backstop netting, bleachers, vinyl chain fence, wooden foot bridges, storage
shed, paved parking, etc.
4. Enables SSC to provide a quality program to its players. Our program not only builds a player’s skill,
but also develops and fosters a strong sense of teamwork, sportsmanship, pride, compassion,
community involvement, leadership, and hard work.

Training Top Sponsorship Program
In addition to the previously mentioned sponsorship opportunities, SSC will be offering businesses the opportunity to
advertise on the training shirts that SSC provides to all of its players for the upcoming Fall 2016-Spring 2017
seasons. Company logos will be placed on these training tops displaying your company’s name throughout the
community for an entire calendar year. Players wear these training tops to all practices, prior to and typically after
games, as well as throughout the community. Logo printing will be done in black or white – SSC’s training tops are
red.
