Day 1:
Savuti Camp, Linyanti
Botswana
Botswana is well known for having some of the best wilderness and wildlife areas on the African continent. With
almost 40% of its land area devoted to national parks, reserves and wildlife management areas you can travel
through many parts of the country has the feeling of moving through an immense Nature wonderland.
The first – and most lasting impressions – will be of vast expanses of uninhabited wilderness stretching from horizon
to horizon, the sensation of limitless space, astoundingly rich wildlife and bird viewing, night skies littered with stars
and heavenly bodies of an unimaginable brilliance, and stunning sunsets of unearthly beauty.
Experience here the stunning beauty of the world’s largest intact inland Delta – the Okavango; the unimaginable
vastness of the world’s second largest game reserve – the Central Kalahari Game Reserve; the isolation and otherworldliness of the Makgadikgadi – uninhabited pans the size of Portugal; and the astoundingly prolific wildlife of the
Chobe National Park.
Botswana is the last stronghold for a number of endangered bird and mammal species, making your safari
experience even more memorable, and at times you will feel simply surrounded by wild animals.
Linyanti
A giant sytem of swamp, grassland and bush fed by the waters of the Kwando and Linyanti Rivers, the Linyanti is
renowned for its massive herds of elephants during the dry season.
Day Notes
Arrival off the plane into Kasane International Airport. You'll be met by a local representative who'll guide you
through to your shared charter flight to Chobe Airstrip. Flying time is about 30 minutes. Here you'll be met by your
guide who will escort you into camp. Time is available to freshen up and prepare for your evening activity. A
sumptuous dinner awaits your return.
Overnight: Savuti Camp
View iBrochure
Savuti Camp is located on the Savute Channel, which for many years was a dry, wide-open ribbon of grassland
snaking through the adjoining woodland. In 2008, the waters returned, and Savuti Camp now has front-row seats to
view the abundant game that has congregated and adapted in its wake. The site of the camp is about 17 kilometres
"downstream" from the Zibadianja Lagoon – the source of the Channel.
Page |4
Accommodation comprises seven large en-suite canvas-and-thatch rooms that are raised off the ground and face
onto the Savute Channel. From the thatched dining area, a pool and large viewing area with fire pit extend outwards
on raised wooden decks towards the new waters that flow past the camp. Activities on offer are day and night game
drives, nature walks with a guide (depending on qualified guide availability) and boating (water levels permitting).
