Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:
On behalf of the entire Lake View High School staff, we welcome our class of 2020 Wildcats. We have a proud
tradition here at Lake View High School, and we invite everyone to be an integral part of our Wildcat
family. We have an extraordinary school year planned and we look forward to sharing the 2016-2017 school
year with you at our upcoming school orientation on August 22nd, 2016 from 8am-11am (students only), and
August 23rd, 2016 from 8am-11am (students and parents).
Lake View High School is committed to providing quality learning for every student, every day. As a collective
team of parents, students, staff, and community leaders working collaboratively on behalf of our children, we
can ensure that all students learn at high levels and that all students develop their talents, gifts, and
passion. It is our collective goal to equip students with the college and career readiness skills to successfully
pursue their post-secondary aspirations. It is through our commitment to use best practices, and our earnest
desire to capture the hearts of our students that our academic community will continue to thrive and be a
place for our students to call home.
As we prepare for the new school year, all parents, guardians, and students are expected to attend the high
school orientation process. Greater success is experienced when you know what to expect and when you are
prepared. Therefore, our staff has developed an informative orientation program that will help each student
and family get ready for a successful school year.
We invite you to get involved and become an active team member of our Lake View family! Lake View is a
wonderful place to learn while also participating in academic, athletic, artistic and extracurricular
opportunities. We provide ongoing volunteering in our community and support students to explore their
dreams and exceed goals. We look forward to seeing you at orientation!

Orientation Guidelines
The following information will help you prepare for the high school orientation process and guide you to a
successful school year. It is suggested that a parent, guardian, or adult designee attend orientation with their
student on the 23rd, but it is not required.

Orientation on August 22 will consist of a welcome by the principal, sessions on school culture and team
building, as well as a short bonding activity for students to get to know one another and the building prior to
the start of school. Orientation on August 23 will begin with presentations and activities on college and career
readiness and getting involved in sports and clubs at Lake View, followed by rotating stations that include
paying fees, completing required paperwork, and supports offered to ensure your child has a successful
transition to Lake View High School.

The basic student fee for incoming freshmen allows us to provide the following for EACH student:

 One standard ID and lanyard
 Instructional supplies for all content areas
 Student incentive awards
 Parent/student publications
 A combination lock (freshmen year only)
By paying this fee, you ensure that your child will have all of the items above as well as help to maintain our
current educational enhancement and enrichment programs.
*Please note: Acceptable forms of payment are credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American
Express) money orders, cashier’s check or cash. No personal checks will be accepted.
