Warm Up: Dynamic

Instructions:
a) Players jog around the perimeter of the court executing the different types of
movements as called out by the coach:
Jog
Skip
Backward
High skip
Double leg hops side to side over
the line;
Backward hopping
High carioca
Skip with knee out
Double leg hoop
Alternate one foot hop
Full speed to the corner
Butt kicks
Carioca
Straddle run (swing legs)
PLUS
Walking Lunges (with or without a bat, stick, etc.)
Lunge step- (side bend, twists over the head, roll in front)
Side Lunge – (same as above)

Instructions:

Player #1 starts at the foul line.
On a signal he takes off running to the far end.
#2 tries to tag the back of #1.
Once #2 reaches the far foul line, he changes direction and heads back to the
other basket.
e) #3 tries to tag the back of #2.
 Add a ball so that the players work on dribbling.

Skills Block: Half Court Lay Ups

Instructions:
a) The players start with a ball where the foul lane meets the baseline.
b) The player dribbles with his outside hand following the foul lane and the
circle until he dribbles in for a left hand lay up.
 Accelerate around the circle; and/or
 Dribble after turning the corner (at the second elbow) and add a
defender to shadow.
c) Mix up the types of finishing moves.

Instructions:
a) Partner and a ball proceed around the court making the following passes…

Football pass.
b) Be sure to work both sides of the floor.

 make it wide and tight.

Instructions:
a) Start with a ball in each corner.
b) The two players (#1 and #2) pass the ball back and forth going towards the
mid court line.
c) The ball is passed to the player in the corner (#5) after he shows two hands
(10 fingers) as a target.
d) The player who passes to the corner man (#1), cuts to the rim for a return
pass from #5 to finish with a lay up and then takes #3’s place.
e) The other player (#2) takes the corner player’s (#5) position at the corner.
f) Player #5 takes player #4’s place.

Instructions:
a) All athletes have a ball except first player in each line.
b) First players must move as directed.
c) Player #4 will pass to player #1 and then player #4 will move (as directed)
and receive a pass from player #2.
d) Players #1 and #4 take shots.
e) Have a competition….
 Give a time limit; and/or
 The number of baskets that you expect each line should be able to get.

Shooting: 2 Line Cross Shooting
Instructions:
a) All players in both lines have a ball except for the first person in each line.
b) The players without a ball make an indirect cut to broaden their space for
taking a shot.
c) Player #4 will pass to player #1 and then player #4 will move (as directed)
and receive a pass from player #2.
d) Players #1 and #4 take shots between the top of the 3-point line and the foul
line.
e) The shooters get their own rebound and change lines.
f) Have a competition.
Progression and Loading:
 Catch and shoot;
 Shot fake…one dribble jumper; and
 Jab and go…one dribble jumper:
 Left and right
Loading of drill:
 Dynamic jump stops
 Runner or tear drop

Instructions:
a) All players in both lines have a ball except for the first person in each line.
b) The players curl around the pylon/chair and receive a pass for a shot.
c) Progressively move the distance further back.
Loading of drill:
 Before the players start their cut, they must make an indirect inside out
cut.
