HUGE INCREASES AT THERMOPHILIC AD
PLANT IN SWITZERLAND
Biogas volume increase of 30% at a thermophilic digester in Switzerland.
The Germanier SA plant in Lavigny, Switzerland was regarded as one of the best performing AD plants.
The field trial has become a project which has been successfully running for the last 3 years. Listed below
is the current data:
• Biogas output has increased from 5545 to over
7201m3/day, an increase of over 30%.
• Annual feed stock increased by 50% from 12000 to
18000 tons which increased the gate-fee revenue.
• Organic content of waste liquid reduced by 70%.
• Greater stability.
• Reduced odours giving savings in H2S reduction
additives, ventilation fans and perfumes.
• Increase revenue from enhanced digestate sales.
The results of the field project clearly demonstrate
the effect of Citadel BioCat+™ on enhancing the
performance of indiginous micro-organisms by
elevating their metabolic performance.
B. THE GERMANIER SA PLANT IN LAVIGNY, SWITZERLAND
The design load of this plant was 40 tons per
day. After adding Citadel BioCat+™ the plant
peaked in the summer to 70 tons per day whilst
averaging in excess of 50 tons per day.
Methane average prior to Citadel Biocat+ was
approximately 56% which afterwards increased
by over 15%.
NOTE: With Citadel BioCat+™ the plant operator
was able to run feed stocks which previously
could not be processed, for example sugar
crusts from a soft drinks factory.
