Dear Parent/ Guardian,
On Thursday 7th July the Science faculty which will be using the end of year exam to assess
Year 7 to place students in the correct set for Year 8. The topics covered in the test will be
Chemical and physical change, Solar system, Light, Reproduction, Solutions, Cells and
microbes, Acids and alkalis and Energy. Your child is expected to revise these topics for
homework from now until the exam.
The results of this exam along with student’s current performance in Year 7 and their attitude
to learning will decide the set your child goes into in Year 8.
Revision for this exam is available by arrangement with your child’s Science Teacher and
details of these sessions will be posted on the school website on the Science pages shortly.
