FIVE GOLD RINGS APPLICATION FORM
Thank you for applying for a coveted “golden ticket” to the studio recording of Five Gold
Rings, a fabulous Christmas Entertainment gameshow, featuring Stephen Nolan as master
of ceremonies.
For your application to be considered, you must be able to attend the recording in Belfast
on the evening of Monday 22nd December 2014. Every lucky ticket holder can bring one
guest, and stands the chance of being selected to take part in one of our fun studio
games. The winner in each round goes forward to an exciting end game and the chance
to win a fantastic prize.
Please only complete the application if you’re aged 18 or over and can make your own
way to the BBC

The information provided will be held on a BBC database until 31st January 2015 and will be kept securely

it will be securely deleted.

Five Gold Rings Application Rules
1.
You must be aged 18 or above on 22nd December 2014.
2.
You must be resident of the UK (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands).
3.
You must not be or be closely related to a member of the BBC or anyone connected with the
programme.
4.
You cannot have been convicted of any serious crime. Details of unspent convictions should also be
listed on the application form.
5.
You warrant that all information you supply as part of this application is accurate and you have been,
and will be at all times, truthful and honest. If you are chosen to participate in the Programme, you
agree to authorise the production team to conduct background checks in order to verify any of the
information you have supplied and you agree to provide them with any assistance or further
information necessary to do this.
6.
Your participation in, and compliance with, the application process does not in any way constitute an
agreement with the BBC for you to appear on the programme. The BBC has no obligation to produce
the programme and, even if the programme is produced, there will be no obligation on the BBC or any
other party to broadcast or transmit or otherwise exploit the programme or include you or any filming in
the programme.

We are aiming to fill our studio with people who will enter into the spirit of Christmas and are genuinely
keen to take part in some festive fun. When selecting applicants for Five Gold Rings, the following will
be taken into account:- unusual stories that are entertaining and enlightening - lively characters who
are comfortable being filmed - where relevant, people who bring skills that could be beneficial to our
gameplay. Selection will be based on the application forms and telephone interviews with selected
applicants.
8.
By submitting your application form, you agree, if you are selected to take part in the programme, to
sign a contributor consent form granting the BBC all necessary rights and consents for the full period of
copyright (and afterwards so far as possible in perpetuity) to copy edit and/or use at their sole
discretion the product of your contribution to the programme for any purposes connected with the
programme, the promotion and advertising thereof and all other rights (including all allied and ancillary
rights) in the programme by any means and in any and all media now known or hereafter invented
throughout the world in perpetuity.
9.
Application forms will be retained by the production team of Five Gold Rings but the BBC will use your
personal details only for the purposes of considering your application for this programme. Your
personal information will not be passed to anyone else except where we are obliged to do so or unless
otherwise authorised by you. The information will be kept securely and in accordance with the Data
Protection Act 1998 and other applicable legislation.
10.
The TV production team’s decision regarding selection for the programme is entirely at its discretion
and cannot be appealed. We reserve the right at any time and for any reason to change our selection
and/or to choose a replacement applicant to participate in the programme.
11.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday the 7th December 2014. If you have not heard from
a member of the team by phone or email by 17th December 2014, unfortunately your application has
been unsuccessful this time around.
12.

I am eligible to participate in the programme.
