Kite Surfing, is a combination of kite flying and surfing, it’s also known as Kite
Boarding or Fly Surfing. A kite surfer attach himself to a board using foot
straps or bindings while being connected to a huge kite .
The most popular spots in Lithuania are at the seaside: Monciškės, Kunigiškės, Dreverna, Nida.
There’s kiting also at Rekyvos, Dūsios, Elektrėnų lakes, Kaunas reservoir. In winter it’s spread even
wider.
In Lithuania there’s around 20 kiting schools: “X-pro”,
“Vėjo ekspresas”, “Pūsk”, “Banginis”, A-team”, “Vėjas
galvoje”, “Knots landing”, “Jėgos aitvarų mokykla”
and so on. Moreover, kitesurfers are being trained by
ten to twenty private instructors that have the
international
IKO
(International
Kiteboarding
Organization) licenses.

•Season’s opening event (may) and season’s end event
(september-october).
•Celebration of the sea in Klaipėda.

If you want to kitesurf you will need a kitesurfing kite, kitesurf board,
kite control device (bar and lines) and a harness. In the early stages you
will want a helmet and a pesonal flotation device as well. But kite is
the main thing.
Delta type kites (RRD Passion, Best Kahuna ir pan.). Sizes: 8-12 sq. meters.
Production and delivery takes from 4 to 6 months. Whole set: kite, control bar with
ropes, bag.
