Snapshot of the Superintendency 2012-2013 Virginia Association of School Superintendents September 19 - October 5, 2012 Overview The Snapshot of the Superintendency Survey captures information about current compensation and benefits packages, specific contract requirements and educational status of superintendents from school districts across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The survey was administered on behalf of the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS). All data contained in this report are self-reported and interpretation of results should not be generalized outside of Virginia. This report is simply a snapshot for the 2012-2013 school year. 2 Participation Rate One hundred thirty-three school superintendents in Virginia were emailed invitations to participate in the survey. One hundred five completed the survey, resulting in a 79% response rate. One incomplete response to the survey is included in the report as appropriate.
