Dear Parents,
This is our final newsletter this year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this year.
I was hoping to bring you news of staffing for next year however this is still to be confirmed. Please look out for a note in bags
as I will let you all know as soon as I have news. At the moment we have a role of 52 for next session so it looks as though the
classes will stay the same as this session: P1/2, P3/4 and P5/6/7.
As always please feel free to contact me at the school office or email me at [email protected] if there is anything
you wish to discuss.

Opening of the Outside Door
Children will no longer be answering the door. Even if a child sees and knows the person they can’t answer it. This is due to
health and safety. An adult will open the door for everyone. Please try and restrict times to 9.15- 2.30 pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri
when we have Mrs Smith in the office. You will not be guaranteed entry at any other time as it would require teachers to leave
their classroom to answer the door. We appreciate your support in reducing the impact on learning and teaching time.
Wig Wednesday
The children all looked fantastic in their wigs. They had great fun doing the activities, guessing how many coins, designing a wig
and decorating a biscuit whilst raising money for a great cause (CLIC Sargent). The total amount raised was £93.20.

Parent Council Section
Hello everyone
We thought it would be good for everyone to have a brief summary of what the Parent Council have been working on/towards.
We welcome any fundraising ideas and are always seeking new members to join our team.
We are working alongside the school to raise funds for outdoor play equipment. We are currently sourcing funds to help with
this.
We have recently been allocated some funding from the Stroupster Windfarm Group which enables us to donate towards the
cost of buses for swimming, school trips, etc. The cost of buses is high and the parent council contribute to this wherever
possible. We are sourcing several funding streams and if anyone has any further ideas of where funding can be sourced – please
feel free to contact either Gillian Begg (Secretary) on [email protected] or Lesley Richard (Chairperson) on
[email protected]
Our next fundraiser is going to be 5K family fun run. This will be held at The Stroupster Windfarm on Sunday 19 th June with a
starting time of 11am. Please see attached information regarding, again this will be in your child’s bag if your receive your
newsletter via e-mail. We have decided on an entrance fee per family, rather than per individual. This event can be run or
walked and is ONLY for the children of Keiss Primary School & Nursery, sibling out with this age group, Parents & Grandparents.
R Begg Electrical Services have very kindly agreed to sponsor the event and have donated trophies/medals towards it. All
children aged P7 and below that walk/run the event will receive a medal.
As always, we would like to thank everyone that supports our events and hope to see you all on the 19 th June 2016.
Regards
Keiss Primary School Parent Council
