Tryst is a pre-Valentine’s auctions party that primarily aims to raise funds for MIDAS 2 (Micro Investment
for Development and Sustainability 2) – MecO’s very own microfinance CSR program – that will be taken
from the revenues of the event itself. Moreover, its goal is to gather Ateneans and non-Ateneans alike to
celebrate the most-awaited Valentine’s day every year.
Tryst, literally the meeting of 2 lovers, is presently on its third year and has already established itself as
one of Ateneo’s premier events that partygoers, not limited to Ateneans, look forward to as THE preValentine’s party to be in. Interspersing entertainment and real-time auctioning has definitely made Tryst
an event that is truly one of a kind. It promises to offer a night of fun and dancing, where the guests are in
for the hottest fashion show, music showdowns and auctions. To cap off the night at the strike of
midnight, everyone witnessed a Valentine’s Day countdown that bounded to turn their luck around!

The two (2) General Assemblies (GA), one held each semester, aim to welcome both new and old MEcO
members. These are perfect avenues to effectively inform the members of the organizational mission and
vision as well as the upcoming projects for each semester. More than that, these are events which will
arouse the interest of the members to participate in the yearlong activities and tap their skills in
leadership, teamwork and the like.
The first GA is held during the month of July every year to welcome MEcO members and to introduce the
organization’s ins and outs to them. As for the second GA, it is annually held during the month of
November to welcome the members as they return from the semestral break. Both GA’s create an

Save! Campaign

The Save! Campaign primary seeks to encourage elementary and high school students to get into the habit
of saving money. More than that, it aims to inculcate in the minds of students the importance of saving for
their future, as well as to promote and instill in the young students the value of discipline, patience and
prudence.
The SAVE! Campaign, held on the month of August, is a project that promotes the importance of saving
money to elementary and high school students in Metro Manila. This is a timely project because young
individuals nowadays want a lot of luxury goods and services available in the market. Letting these young
students buy everything they can afford teaches them to be materialistic and carefree. Hence, the SAVE!
Campaign will reintroduce to them the value of saving for their future. By providing the students with the
proper information resources such as promo materials and brochures, marketing the importance of saving
as early as now, and distributing special coin banks (c/o sponsors such as banks), the project aims to
convince them to rethink about their lifestyle and frequent spending, and instead focus on investing in
their future by the old Filipino tradition of saving. In this project, we plan to reach our target audience by
partnering with organizations inside and outside Ateneo like the sector-based student organizations,
Pathways to Higher Education, the Ateneo Office of Social Concern and Involvement and Silid Aralan, Inc.
