An exclusive event and conferencing venue Clonabreany Clonabreany is located adjacent to the lakeland districts of Meath, Westmeath and Cavan. Hundreds of lakes in beautiful rural surroundings are home to an array of fish and Clonabreany is ringed by renowned stillwater lakes such as Lene (with Blue Flag status), Lough Bane and Lough Sheelin, famed for its mayfly fishing. The ‘Royal County’ is a place justly proud of its incredible importance in Irish history. The respect for learning and tradition indelibly marks the county’s people and their pride in who they are and where they come from is legendary. But it is an attractive pride, a pride that spurs the people to a warm hospitality and to pleasure at being able to show their county to the world. Meath is a treasure trove of archeological and historical sites, including Sliamh Na Caillaimh, Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth with their Neolithic tombs and monuments. Also in the county is the Hill of Tara, the seat of the High Kings of Ireland. The Norman castle at Trim constructed by Hugh de Lacy in 1172 was visited by King John in 1610 and 400 years later was the location chosen by Mel Gibson for the filming of Braveheart. A short drive takes you to sites such as Fore Abbey in County Westmeath with its ‘seven wonders’ or the town of Kells famed for St. Columba’s 6th monastery and the Book that bears its name now on display in Trinity College Dublin Meath sprawls out from North Dublin reaching almost to the border and is one of the larger counties in the country. Home to the ancient capital of Ireland at Tara as well as a wealth of other famous historical sites Meath combines a rich and fascinating heritage with a range of activities to choose from making it the envy of many Irish counties. “We were greeted warmly at Clonabreany and the facilities were outstanding. We had complete privacy and we were able to work hard but also enjoy a night with a local Irish band. When you are at Clonabreany you are the only client and it is why a hotel can never match the privacy and intimacy of this venue.” Retail Operations Director, Vision Express UK Clonabreany House is an unforgettable place to meet, entertain or just relax and escape.
