The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday that Boykin, who signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent, received a oneyear probation that could result in dismissal of the misdemeanor charge. The track announced plans for the resumption of the Firestone 600 on Thursday. The race will restart Aug. 27. It was initially postponed a day in June and then halted because of more rain after 71 of 248 laps. He has 17 saves with 0.31 ERA in 28 games this year. prospect loses eye after freak accident PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Phillies minor league pitcher Matt Imhof has lost his right eye after a freak accident with exercise equipment. Imhof said in an Instagram post Thursday that he had surgery Tuesday to remove the eye. He said the first operation couldn’t restore his vision and he opted to have a prosthetic put in. Imhof was injured after a game Friday night when a piece of metal broke off an exercise machine and hit him in the head and eye. He also suffered a broken nose and two broken orbital bones.
