Does your child want to play hockey? Then join us for the 2016-2017 hockey season! We
are fielding teams at the U8 (Mites), U10 (Squirts), U12 (Peewees/Girls), and U14
(Bantams/Girls) levels, and offer a Beginning Hockey program for those new to hockey.
Team Placement evaluations have been set for October 3, 4, 5, & 6 at USM Ice Arena in
Gorham, Maine. Specific times and dates are assigned based on age. Huskies Youth
Hockey offers hockey programs for boys & girls of all ages, from beginning hockey on up.
The hockey program is based on birth year. The season starts in late October and ends in
early March. Team average 40-45 practices a season, plus weekend games and
tournaments.





Mites – 2008, 2009 birth years
Squirts – 2006, 2007 birth years
Peewees – 2004, 2005 birth years
Bantams – 2002, 2003 birth years
Girls – 2002 to 2007 birth years


us for a FREE Open Skate. Please go to

corresponds with your player’s age group.
*** If your child is new to hockey, then he/she will need to join our Beginning Hockey
program first.
This year we are offering a FREE Beginning Hockey program for players under 7 years-old
for the first 10-sessions who have never skated with HYH and beginning hockey before.
This free program starts in early November and runs into early December, with practices
on Thursday at 5 p.m. and Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
If you want your younger child to play for the full season, then sign him/her up for our
Atoms program. The Initiation program is a complete season starting in early November
into February.



Break-the-Ice – Hockey for 4/5 year olds
Atoms – Hockey for 5/6 year olds
Initiation – Ages 7 & up for new hockey players without Atom / Break-the-Ice
experience
The Huskies Youth Hockey program is run by Southern Maine Youth Hockey Association a 501c3
non-profit and volunteer organization. We serve hockey players in Southern Maine, from
Scarborough, Westbrook, Gorham, Windham, Raymond, Buxton, Hollis, Standish and other towns.
