We made it through our first month at school with lots of smiles and
excitement!!! The children are having a wonderful time and always
seem eager to begin the day! Thanks for your help in making the
transition from home to school a smooth one!
Please remember that we would love to have you come into your child’s
classroom to share your culture, talent or occupation. Visits from
parents will be going on throughout the year. If you would like to share
with the children, please let your child’s teachers know when you are
available.
We would like to congratulate the Caruso family for their new addition
JACK!! Maggie is going to be a great big sister. Best wished for the
whole family!!!
Have a wonderful Halloween and enjoy the leaves changing their colors!
Important Information
School Pictures- School pictures were great!!! They should be back
by the end of the month. We can’t wait to see everyone’s photos!! I’m
sure they all look great!
No School- Just a reminder that NCP will be closed on Monday,
October 14th for Columbus Day and Tuesday, October 15th because
Norfolk Public is closed. Enjoy the extra-long weekend.
Field Trip- We will be taking the children to Jane and Paul’s farm on
the Big Yellow School Bus on Wednesday 10/9 with the Blue Horses and
the Green Frogs going at 9:15 and the Red Birds and Pink Elephants
leaving at 10:15 and Thursday 10/10 with the Goldfish and the Brown
Bears leaving at 9:15. The Purple Cats will be going to the farm on
their own. Please make sure your child is on time to school that
morning and that they have used the bathroom before entering the
classroom. We do not ask for a fee for the children as it is included in
the enrichment fee. If you have signed up to be a chaperone it is an
$8.00 fee. Please make your payment in the office. Thanks and we
look forward to a great day of fun!!
Halloween Spooktacular- We will be having our 6th annual Halloween
Spooktacular fun party in the playroom on October 30th and 31st. We
will be asking for volunteers to help out shortly. Look for upcoming
emails for more details.
Outside Play and Labeling all coats and clothing- We do take
the children out to play each day. Please be sure to pack the
appropriate coat or sweatshirt for the playground. It can be a bit
chilly down there. Please make sure that you are labeling all of your
children’s clothing that comes into school. Right now it is the coats,
sweatshirts and sweaters. Sometimes the children can’t remember
what their coats look like so it is best to have everything labeled.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Parent Classroom Helpers- We have begun our classroom parent
helpers this week. Also, the helper schedule for November was placed
in all cubbies today. Please let me know if there are any issues or
discrepancies. Enjoy your time in the classrooms!!
Illness or absence- Please remember to call in if your child will not
be attending school for the day for any reason. We ask that the
children stay home if they have a fever, are throwing up or have
diarrhea. If your child has and uncontrollable cough or is unable to
keep their nose clean from discharge we also ask that you keep them
home. Your child needs to be symptom free for 24 hours before
returning to class. Thanks
Stay and Play- We normally run our stay and play program from 121pm each day. Due to the lack of children we have only opened stay and
play on Wed and Friday. If you would like to have your child come any
day for stay and play please let me know and we will try to get the
other days of the week filled up. We can only run the program if at
least 3 children sign up for a day on a regular basis. The children love
to stay for lunch and it can be a great time to get a few extra things
done. Please let me know if you are interested in a particular day.
School Directory- We will be sending a school directory to all
families in the next week or two. The directory will include all children
and all classes. Each family has chosen if they would like to be included
when filling out the paperwork over the summer. The directory is a
great way to set up play dates, birthday parties and getting together
with friends.
Tuition- The month tuition payments are due by the 10th of the
month. Please place your tuition payment in the tuition box located
outside my office area on the parent shelves. The annual enrichment
fee of $50 is due November first. This covers all of the field trips,
visitors, music and special events we have here at NCP. NCP does not
do any fundraising for these events so we ask for the one time yearly
fee.
Scholastic- We have a wonderful order in for September!! Thanks to
all. We will be sending out the flyers on a monthly basis. The next
order will be due on Friday, October 25th. You can also check the
flyers out online at any time at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs and sign
up under parent orders with our code H7T3T. Please let me know if
you have any questions. The first book order should be in by the end
of the week.
Paper Towels- This month we are asking the Pink Elephants to bring
in two rolls of paper towels. This helps cut our costs for the month
and we thank you in advance. There is still time for any Red Bird family
who forgot to bring them in for September to bring them in now.
Thanks so much for your help.
