SHOW RULES
1. Every class recognized by the Maine Horse Association will be conducted and judged under the current
rules of the MHA.
2. Hunter Breeding Horses/Ponies classes will be conducted and judged under the current rules of the
MeHJA.
3. No horse may enter a class unless an entry blank has been completed, fees paid, and number assigned.
4. Show ring is sand ring. Separate warm-up arena available and is also sand ring.
5. Entry fees: $15 per class, $15 per medal, stake and championship classes. MHA fee$4 per horse/pony.
$10 post entry fee per horse and rider. Entries close Friday July 8, 2016.
6. Food will be available on the grounds. Lunch break, if any, will be announced.
7. No refunds without note from veterinarian or medical doctor.
8. No dogs allowed on premises unless leashed and kept away from the ring.
9. Warm-ups will be held from 6:30 – 8:15 am in show ring. Jumps will be set at 2’3 then changed to cross
rails half way through. $10 per horse/rider combination. Please respect fellow competitors and only stay
in warm-up areas for as long as necessary. NO MORE THAN (4) riders in the show ring at a time during
warm ups. Classes begin promptly at 8:30am.
10. Schooling Hunter/Equitation: Open to Junior and Amateur adult exhibitors.
11. Medal Specifications will be available at the secretary’s booth.
12. Six ribbons and trophy/money as indicated will be awarded. All prize money will be paid in cash in
envelopes. Once handed out, the show’s responsibility for the money will end.
13. Championship and Reserve Championship ribbons will be awarded based on points in respective
divisions (no entry fee). Awards will be in Easy Does It, Schooling Hunter, Special Hunter, Childrens,
Low Hunter, and Thoroughbred Hunter
14. Proof of current negative coggins and rabies required. Mail with entry or bring to secretary’s stand.
15. Championship and Stake Classes: To be eligible, horse (rider in equitation) must have been entered,
shown and judged in the class in parenthesis ( ).

“ Every entry at an affiliated show shall constitute an agreement and affirmation that the person making it, along with the
owner, lessee, trainer, manager, agent, coach, driver, rider, and the horse: (1) shall be subject to the Bylaws and the Rules
of the Maine Hunter/Jumper Association (MeHJA), MHA, and the local rules of the Show; (2) that every horse, rider, and/or
driver is eligible as entered;(3) that the owner and any of his representatives are bound by the Bylaws and the Rules of the
Association(s) and the Show and will accept as final the decision of the MHA, Inc, or Committees thereof on any question
arising under said rules and agree to hold the show, the MHA Inc. and their officials, directors and employees harmless for
any action taken; (4) that the owner, rider/driver and any of their agents or representatives agree to hold the Show, the MHA
Inc. and their officials, directors, employees and agents harmless for any injury or loss suffered during or in connection with
the Show, whether or not such injury or loss resulted, directly or indirectly, from the negligent acts or omissions of said
officials, directors, employees or agents of Show. The constitution or application of Maine Horse Association, Inc., rules is
governed by the Laws of the State of Maine” Management reserves the right to decline or refuse any entry without being
liable for compensation, and eliminate from further competition any exhibitor or horse should the best interest of the Show
be served.
