…stop and consider the wondrous
works of God. 15 Do you know how
God lays his command upon them
and causes the lightning of his cloud
to shine? Do you know the
balancings of the clouds, the
wondrous works of him who is
perfect in knowledge…
Job 37:15-16
By this we shall know that we are of the
truth and reassure our heart before him;
for whenever our heart condemns us,
God is greater than our heart, and he
knows everything.
1 John 3:19-20
And no creature is hidden from his sight,
but all are naked and exposed to the eyes
of him to whom we must give account.
Hebrews 4:13
God’s perfect knowledge means:
• When you regret…
• When you worry …
• When you wonder…
God’s perfect knowledge means:
• When you regret the past God
knows how to use it for His glory
(Gen. 50:20).
• When you worry …
• When you wonder…
God’s perfect knowledge means:
• When you regret the past God
knows how to use it for His glory
(Gen. 50:20).
• When you worry about the future
God knows what it holds
(Psa. 139:16).
• When you wonder…
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of
them, the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O
God! How vast is the sum of them!
Psalm 139:16-17
God’s perfect knowledge means:

knows how to use it for His glory
(Gen. 50:20).
• When you worry about the future
God knows what it holds
(Psa. 139:16).
• When you wonder about today God
knows every detail (Jam. 4:15).
Come now, you who say, “Today or
tomorrow we will go into such and such a
town and spend a year there and trade
and make a profit”— yet you do not
know what tomorrow will bring. What is
your life? For you are a mist that appears
for a little time and then vanishes.
Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord
wills, we will live and do this or that.”
James 4:13-15
In God’s perfect
wisdom He chooses
the best ends and
means for His glory.
God’s perfect wisdom means:
• You cannot…
• You can…
God’s perfect wisdom means:
• You cannot fully understand all His
ways in your life (Rom. 11:33-34).
• You can…
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom
and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are his judgments and
how inscrutable his ways! For who has
known the mind of the Lord, or who has
been his counselor? … For from him and
through him and to him are all things. To
him be glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11:33-36
God’s perfect wisdom means:
• You cannot fully understand all His
ways in your life (Rom. 11:33-34).
• You can be certain all His ways are
divinely purposed—even those you
don’t understand (Ex. 13:17-18) .
God is infinitely wise and
we are not, and it pleases
Him when we have faith to
trust His wisdom even
when we do not understand
what He is doing.

Reasons you struggle to trust God’s wisdom:

Reasons you struggle to trust God’s wisdom:

Be of the same mind toward one another.
Do not set your mind on high things, but
associate with the humble. Do not be
wise in your own opinion.
Romans 12:16
Reasons you struggle to trust God’s wisdom:
• You think too much of your own
opinion (Rom. 12:16).
• You defend too often your experience
as unique (Isa. 29:16; 1 Cor. 10:13).
• You treasure too highly…
No temptation has overtaken you that is
not common to man. God is faithful, and
he will not let you be tempted beyond
your ability, but with the temptation he
will also provide the way of escape, that
you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

• You defend too often your experience

• You treasure too highly your
personal comfort (Phil. 4:11).
Not that I am speaking of being in need,
for I have learned in whatever situation I
am to be content. I know how to be
brought low, and I know how to abound.
In any and every circumstance, I have
learned the secret of facing plenty and
hunger, abundance and need. I can do all
things through him who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:11-13
