UWA Sports Pty Ltd SOCIAL SPORTS TOUCH RULES th PLEASE NOTE: Social Sport competition rules are based on the Touch Football Australia Rules- 7 Edition. However, due to the nature of Social Sport competitions, some changes or additions have been made. These are listed below: 1. The Playing Area 1.1. UWA Campus- James Oval 1.2. An alternative venue may be utilised if James Oval is unavailable 2. Players 2.1. The maximum number of players on the field at any given time is six (6) 2.2. Minimum number of players on field without incurring a forfeit is five (5) Male Female Min 1 2 Max 4 5 2.3. Teams are not to exceed fourteen (14) for any one game 2.4. If a team has an incorrect ratio, it either plays: 2.4.1.With less players, and therefore the correct ratio (2 female, 3 male) 2.4.2.A ‘friendly’ game with the incorrect ratio, which assumes an automatic loss, but avoids forfeit fine. The referee and both team managers must agree on the automatic loss prior to the start of the game 2.4.3.In both circumstance, both teams will still need to pay a game fee 3. Forfeits 3.1. If a team forfeits a 5-0 victory will be recorded for their opposition 3.2. All forfeits must be communicated with the UWA Social Sports Officer. All forfeits will result in the loss of Team Forfeit Bond on the first offence, and will be charged one game fee for every offence thereafter 4. Player equipment 4.1. All players are required to wear a team uniform consisting of same coloured tops and same coloured bottoms by the third game of the season. Shirts MUST BE NUMBERED 4.2. Bibs will be provided where there is a clash of uniform colours. Team managers will rock, paper, scissors to determine which team will wear bibs 4.3. All players must remove objects such as watches/jewellery (taping of facial jewellery is expected) that may be dangerous to other players. A wedding band or a medic alert bracelet may be worn, but must be appropriately taped. Players will not be allowed onto the field until they comply 4.4. Nails must be cut or appropriately taped. Players will not be allowed onto the court until they comply 4.5. UWA Sports will NOT provide strapping tape or nail clippers. This is the responsibility of the participant 4.6. No metal studs are permitted 5. Substitution of players 5.1. Following the scoring of a touchdown, players may interchange without making physical contact with the substituting players 5.2. All other interchanges must occur at the sideline, in an outside position and the players involved must make physical contact prior to the substitute entering the field of play UPDATED JANUARY 2016 UWA Sports Pty Ltd 6. To Play 6.1. All weekly game fees must be paid prior to the start of scheduled games and the receipt given to relevant referees. NO RECEIPT=NO GAME 6.2. Not only does it keep the other team waiting, late starts affect the whole evening’s fixtures times, therefore the clock will start running at the scheduled time. If a team is late, they will be penalized accordingly and the game will go on 6.2.1.1-5 minutes late= 1 try 6.2.2.5-10 minutes late= 2 tries 6.2.3.10-15 minutes late= 3 tries 6.3. Games will be forfeited if a team is not ready to play within fifteen (15) minutes of scheduled starting time 6.4. If a team forfeits a 5-0 victory will be recorded for their opposition 7. Duration 7.1. Preliminary and finals- 2 x 18minute halves with a 5 minute half-time 7.2. When time expires, play is continued until the ball becomes ‘dead’. Should a penalty be awarded during this period, the penalty is allowed 8. Suspensions and Ejections 8.1. Incidents of a dangerous or unsportsmanlike nature that are reported by the referee or an opposing team will be taken seriously 8.2. A warning will be issued to the offending player/team and referees have the right to remove a player/team should further incidents occur during the game. All incidents will be reported to the Social Sport Officer 8.3. Further action may be taken for serious incidents and repeat offenders. All information regarding the incident will be taken into account and a decision on an appropriate resulting action will be made by the Social Sports Officer in consultation with senior members of staff. Actions may include suspension of a player or withdrawal of a team 8.4. Should a team wish to make a formal complaint their team manager should do so in writing to the Social Sport Officer within 24 hours of the incident 9. Finals Procedures 9.1. In the event of a draw in the final fixtures, the game will go into sudden death 9.2. Team’s will alternate having an opportunity to score (with possession of the ball, six touches) 9.3. A coin is tossed to determine possession of the ball 9.4. The team who scores without the other scoring their attempt will be declared the winner 9.4.1.First team scores and second team doesn’t = first team wins 9.4.2.First team doesn’t score and second team does = second team wins 9.4.3.First and second team score = next score wins rd 9.5. After each minute of the extra time, both teams will drop one player, until the 3 minute. At the end of the third minute each team will have with four (4) players (2 males and 2 females) on the field for the remainder of the game UPDATED JANUARY 2016
