The Basics

conducive to play in a gym. Thus why we
play using basketballs.
• The same rules of golf will apply as we will
get into in a moment
• As in most performance activities we do,
using proper technique will ensure better
performance.
What we are learning….
• Basic rules of golf
• The BEEF principal in shooting a
basketball
• Working with integers
• Learning about average (par) and other
basic mathematic terminology and
procedures.
Must have Terminology:

you to complete a hole. All scores will be
based off of this number.
• Birdie – 1 shot under par
• Eagle – 2 shots under par
• Bogey – 1 shot over par
• Double Bogey – 2 shots over par

hole

or negative
• Average – in relation to golf, it is par
• B.E.E.F- shooting principal to ensure
proper technique of shooting a basketball
Tee it up…
• The person with the lowest score on the
previous hole shoots first (if this is first tee,
you can do paper rock and scissors to
determine leader)
• Each shooter will shoot until they make
their shot.
• We have a quadruple bogey (+4) limit
Finishing your round…
• Once a round is finished, All 4 players in
your group must sign off on the score card
to attest that the score keeper has things
correct.
• Turn your score card in to Coach Martin
upon completion.
