a) Historically, more men than women have
availed of company-sponsored training within
FAS. This reflects employers demands for updating their employees skills. However, more
women than men attend FAS evening courses.
a)The measure can be used to promote training of women as well as men to
employers.
b) Night-time, Saturday morning and Friday afternoon options provide additional
flexibility which can assist participation by a wider range of persons. In addition,
the development by FAS of internet-based options will assist persons who wish
to train while at home.
c) FAS will examine take-up of e-learning options to see if they are achieving a
balanced gender up-take.
d) Working with local community-based facilities, FAS can help to provide
supports for e-learners, and hence make e-learning more suitable for lowerqualified adults.
