GRADE EIGHT NIGHT
- Information Session for all Grade 8’s interested in
attending RND for high school
- Student Services Presentation
- IB Presentation
- Open house
A - HEAD START
• Refreshes math skills, develops literacy skills, allows
students to transition into high school
• Five hours of daily instruction and orientation
• Orientation activities include ice-breaking activities, Guitar
Hero, Dodge Ball and Pie throwing games!
“ASK ME” T-SHIRTS
- Shirts developed for a number of grade 12’s
to wear for the first week of school that
display the words, “ASK ME”.
- The purpose is for if a Grade 9 has a question
about the school or daily routine the Grade
12 can give them direction
GRADE NINE DAY
• Orientation for all Grade 9’s for half of a school day, run
outside on the field
• Fun activities such as Slip n’ Slide, ice-breaker games,
wheelbarrow races, water relay, etc.!
• Grade 9’s are mixed in teams to insure they are making new
friends
• Grade twelve's are leaders for the grade nines and run the
different stations
GIRLS NIGHT IN
• Grade 9 Girls night at RND from after school till 7pm
• Fun activities such as nail painting, tie-dye making, ice cream and
pizza eating, karaoke, Just Dance, dance lessons, etc.!
• Grade 12 girls are leaders for different groups and for stations!
• A great way for girls to meet new friends, step out of their
comfort zone and have fun!
RKY LEADERSHIP CAMP
• Over night camp hosted at RKY for RND Students!
• A chance for grade 12 leaders to demonstrate to grade 9
leadership skills
• Awesome outdoor activities such as cross-country skiing,
snow shoeing, fire building, ice-breaker games, etc.!
RND COMMUNITY EVENTS
• Coffee House
• Semi-Formal
• Spirit Week
• Pep Rally
• Inside Ride
• Toy Drive
• Garnet and Gold Dance
• Sporting Events
