Trail 22

26 Boyhood
Principles
The Spandex Male is always a part of our
“self.” We must be vigilantly aware of
this immature part of ourselves that is
always carried within us. It encourages
us, as knights, to regress by supporting
this set of childish beliefs. It limits our
ability to adapt to our circumstances
because of our decision to continue to
make the same choices.
Lamech
Genesis 4:19
1.
“Always win.” – Only losers lose, so win at
any cost.
2.
“Hide your pain.” – If you or others don’t
recognize it, it can’t hurt you.
3.
“React quickly.” – Act first; thinking
demands too much effort.
4.
“Don't trust.” – People are imperfect and
will only let you down.
5.
“Never cry.” – Ignore your feelings and
always show a tough image.
6.
“Be right.” – If you admit that you’re
wrong, you will lose the respect of others.
7. “Never forgive.” – Forgiving means letting
go of your desire for payback.
8. “Don’t care.” – The more you care, the
greater the risk that you will feel pain.
9. “Blame others.” – Responsibility is always
best when given to others.
10. “Strike first.” – The best defense is a good
offense.
11. “Truth changes.” – Truth is less important
than convenience and should be determined
by the situation at hand.
12. “Money talks.” – A wealthy person has
greater worth.
13. “Life is a show.” – It is truly dangerous to be
the authentic “you.”
14. “Use the TV remote.” – Intimate
conversations reveal things that you don’t
want to hear.
15. “Increase life’s volume.” – Personal
reflection demands too much effort and is
uncomfortable.
16. “Block feedback.” – You should be the sole
judge of yourself.
17. “Luck matters.” – It’s about luck, not a plan.
18. “Can’t wait” – What good is an impulse if it
can’t be satisfied immediately?
19. “My time” – Meet your own needs first; the
needs of others can be taken care of later.
“Finding good players is
easy. Getting them to play
as a team is another story.”
- Casey Stengel
20. “Take it easy.” – Don’t push yourself; life is
already too stressful.
21. “Mine” – Sharing may mean there is not
enough for you.
22. “Not now” – You can always get that done
tomorrow.
23. “I know.” – Learning something new is
highly overrated.
24. “Can’t change” – What you see is what you
get.
25. “My way” – I have routines that should not
be questions or disrupted.
26. “This worries me.” – I now have an excuse
not to try.
