ELIGIBILITY:
All shooter must comply with the Current NRA Police Pistol Combat Rules. All shooters
must show proof of employment, NRA membership and TSRA membership when
picking up packets. All competitors must be a current member in good standing of the
Texas State Rifle Association and the NRA.
RULES:
All NRA rules will govern except for any changes listed.
CLASSES:
Individual competitors will be classified according to their NRA classification.
Unclassified shooters will compete in the High Master class. Teams will be classified
according to NRA rules. No categories will be used in competition or awards.
SQUADDING:
All individual and team matches will be squadded by the Stat Office.
TARGETS:
NRA B-27 targets will be used.
REFIRES:
NRA Rule 9.10 will apply.
CHALLENGES:
NRA Rule 16.1 will apply. All challenges of posted scores must be made within One (1)
Hour of posting time.
INDIVIDUAL MATCH INFORMATION
FIRING OF MATCHES: All matches will be fired “California Style” with matches 1-5
being fired without leaving the firing line. Scoring will be done off the line.
COURSES OF FIRE: All courses of fire can be found in the NRA Police Pistol Combat
Rule Book. A copy of any course of fire will be provided by the STAT OFFICE upon
request from any competitor. The course of fire will be given on the line.
NATIONAL RECORDS: National records are now being maintained by the NRA for all
matches fired by classified police competitors. In order for a score to be eligible for a
national record, all NRA requirements for ammunition and equipment must be met.
FIREARMS AND EQUIPMENT: Decision of NRA referee will be final as to eligibility of
any firearm, holster, grips, magazines, ammunition and/or equipment.
OPEN CLASS MATCH: Eligible firearms and ammunition required will be as per NRA
Rules 3.2 (revolver) and 3.3 (semi-auto).
STOCK SEMI-AUTO MATCH: Eligible firearm will be as per NRA Rule 3.7: “it should
be remembered that this is meant to be a totally stock police duty firearm such as would be
issued to a new recruit in the academy and NOT A COMPETITION FIREARM”. Course of
fire is the 48 round course given in the NRA PPC Rule Book.
OFF DUTY MATCH: Eligible firearm and ammunition are required as per NRA Rules 3.8
(revolver) and 3.9 (semi-auto). Competition leather or off duty type directional draw holsters
only (no cross-draw, ankle, inside waistband, or shoulder holsters; no holsters requiring
insertion of finger into trigger guard for release will be allowed). Course of fire is the 48
round course given in the NRA PPC Rule Book.
STOCK SERVICE REVOLVER MATCH: Eligible firearm and ammunition required will
be as per NRA Rule 3.6 & 3.17. Either hand loaded or factory loaded ammunition may be
used. No wadcutter ammunition is allowed. Course of fire is the 48 round course in the
NRA PPC Rule Book.
DISTINGUISHED MATCHES: Eligible firearms and ammunition required will be as per
NRA Rules 3.4 (revolver) , 3.5 (semi-auto) and 3.17. Equipment and ammunition are subject
to inspection by NRA referee. Triggers will be weighed. Course of fire is the 60 round
national police course.
TSRA REVOLVER DISTINGUISHED MATCHES: (4 INCH SERVICE REVOLVER)
Eligible firearms and ammunition required will be as per NRA Rules 3.6 & 3.17. Equipment
and ammunition are subject to inspection by referee. Triggers will be weighed. Course of
fire is the 60 round national police course.
TSRA SEMI-AUTO DISTINGUISHED MATCHES: (STOCK SEMI-AUTO PISTOL)
Eligible firearms and ammunition required will be as per NRA Rules 3.7 & 3.17 In
determining whether a specific firearm meets the spirit and intent as well as the letter of this
rule, it should be remembered that this is meant to be a totally stock police duty firearm such
as would be issued to a new recruit in the academy. Equipment and ammunition are subject
to inspection by NRA referee. Triggers will be weighed. Course of fire is the 60 round
national police course.
