Our current projects are mainly in healthcare working with private and NHS customers as well as other industries. We use the latest technology to build native apps for smartphones and tablets, which work across iOS, Android and Windows platforms. We work in a flexible, fun environment on Newcastle Quayside with plenty of challenge. What will I be doing as a Senior Software Developer at Carbon Labs? As part of our team you’ll be involved in the full life cycle of our products, through specification, design, development, testing, deployment and support. You’ll develop software for a multitude of platforms (mobile, web, server, etc), with a specific focus on mobile and web technologies, primarily using Xamarin forms. You’ll use agile methodologies to continuously iterate development. You’ll work closely with the Customer, Development Team, Test team, Product Owner and UX design team to deliver products which meet user and functional requirements. You’ll work closely with the CTO and Head of Development to ensure architectural integrity. What else might I be able to get involved in? As a small team our roles are not limited to our job titles and there is often plenty of opportunity to get involved in other areas of the business including: • Iteration and sprint planning • User support, business analysis, deployment and environment configuration • Site visits to facilitate the above Who would fit the role of a Senior Mobile Developer? For our Senior Mobile Developer role we are looking for you to have worked for at least 3 years in software environment, with experience of: • C# • Visual Studio • SQL Server • Xamarin (at the very least an awareness of it) • ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, WCF, REST • Agile and Scrum methodologies • Windows Server, IIS • OO Design and Development • UI Development (web or mobile) Also beneficial would be experience of: • Windows Services, SSRS, MSMQ • Communication and transport protocols (eg HTTP) • OAuth 2, Certificates, NHibernate • Javascript, JQuery, XML To work well with the team you will: Hold at least a Second Class Honours Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline or have significant industry experience Be highly motivated with a proactive attitude towards tasks Be self-critical with a desire to continually improve upon knowledge and skills Be able to work collaboratively with a variety of other developers, testers and user experience experts and ask for help when needed Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in layman’s terms Remain calm and composed in pressurised environments and be able to evaluate risk Demonstrate fast mental agility and have flexibility to respond proactively to new challenges What benefits will I receive?
