Frequently Asked Questions:
Who made up this list?
VVS League Staff and VVS Pool League Board of Directors
How did my name get on this list?
A sincere effort was made to list players based on what they have accomplished the past few years.
The following criteria were used:
Midwest Open Singles Master List. Midwest Open Team Master List. Great Plains Open Singles Master List.
Players who placed in the money in MW 5 Masters Singles, Top 2 Players in MW 5 “A” Singles and Top 2 Players in GP 4 Masters Singles the past 3 years.
How could (player name) not possibly be on the list?
Rather than subjectively picking players to be on the list we decided to select players with the documented credentials listed above. I will be the first to
admit that certain “A” Level players are probably just as good as or better than some of the Masters that are listed. It is very difficult to subjectively select
those players because it becomes one opinion over another.
I’m not listed but I consider myself a Master Player, can I still play in Masters Leagues and Tournaments?
Many players volunteer to participate at the Masters Level because they feel that is the best way to evaluate and improve their game. VVS supports those
who choose to play in the Master Level because that is where they want to play, not because they were forced to the Masters Level.
My credentials were earned as a member of a team, am I required to play Masters Singles at City Tournaments?
Not necessarily. The Singles Player Rating List for VVS Great Plains City and VVS Midwest City will be posted not later than March 10, 2015.
If you are listed on Midwest Open Singles Masters, Great Plains Open Singles Masters, placed in the money in Lincoln Masters Singles events or a player
who was previously placed on a Singles Masters List due to their performance in Lincoln Masters or “A” Singles the past 3 years
you will be on the VVS Masters Singles List.
A few of the Team master players may be allowed to participate in the “A” Division but that is to be determined.
How do I get my name off the Team Masters List?
If you are on the Midwest Open singles, Midwest Open Team Masters or Great Plains Open Singles Masters List you must file a petition with those
associations to have your name removed. You must have participated the past 3 years in those tournaments but not placed high enough to retain your
Masters Status. If you are listed because of your performance in Lincoln Masters of “A” Singles you must participate in Masters City Singles for 3 years
without finishing in the money.
