Unable to gain access to FINT
When we have an interior order, the lockbox code is provided in the order. Safeguard is in the process of also providing
us with a master key code for these orders. Then if the lockbox does not work, we will know which of our master keys to
use to gain access to the property.
Safeguards system is not currently including key codes in the orders. What they are doing right now is issuing a follow up
with the key code in the event you cannot gain entry with the lockbox. In an effort to avoid follow ups, until their system
is updated, please try every master key to gain access. It’s time consuming and a pain, but it beats having to return for a
follow up.
In the event that the lockbox does not work, and none of the master keys work, I would suggest taking a clear photo of
every key in the door with the key code visible. (We had a case where inspector took photo of every key, the key code
on one key was not clear enough to read, and since that was the key that was supposed to work, he had to return for a
follow up to take a clear pic of key not working.) I know this is going to be a bit of a hassle until Safeguard’s system is
completely set up to include the key code. Once the key code is included in the order, we will only be required a photo
of that particular key in the door.
Here is a sample picture of what Safeguard requires with the key not working photo. Must include door knob not turning
with key in the door, key code visible, and some of the surrounding door and/or door jamb. If you are not certain the key
code is clearly visible, feel free to get closer for a second pic.
