About LCA: an environmental impact scorecard
LCA allows you to get a holistic picture of the performance that helps avoid
sub-optimization and provides a scientific basis for environmental impacts.
Conduct of LCA follows international standards and certification guidelines.
LCA can be carried out for eco-design or for achieving certification credits.

Input data used for the Life-Cycle Assessment
The primary data source for the LCA was an architectural BIM model
created with Revit. The dataset was completed by adding the foundations
and key building technology elements to the model.

Project design alternatives: narrative
Baseline design:
The baseline building represents a typical office building of 9400 m2 as
constructed to the actual site. It has a steel-concrete frame and glass
facade. Floors are cast on site from ready mix concrete. The foundation is
overall of a ready-mix C37/40 concrete. Insulation is using rockwool.
Proposed design:
The proposed design has similar shape and structure as the baseline
design, but differs on the following points:
- Floors are cast on site using a deltabeam anchoring, reducing thickness
- Foundations are optimized based on technical requirements using a
variety of concrete strenght classes
- Roofing is optimized and uses a recycled roofing material
- Insulation material is a specified environmentally manufactured material
All calculations use same dataset and calculation methods. All service lives
are based on the manufacturer’s declared product service lives.
