POINT SCORE SYSTEM

Period of Competition
The NSW G.B.O.T.A. Members Greyhound of the Year Competition will commence on the lst January
each year and conclude on the 31st December each year.
Allocation of Points
A tiered Points Score System has been adopted for the M.G.O.T.Y. Competitions.
The Point score system has been designed to reward superior performance. A points value has been
allocated for each placed performance, relative to the divisional classification that the NSW G.R.N.S.W
determines shall apply to the individual Greyhound Racing Club, which conducted the meeting.
The NSW G.R.N.S.W TAB Clubs Grading Policy (appendix 1) classifies all clubs as:
City Clubs (Metropolitan)
Division A
TAB Clubs (Provincial)
Division B
Tab C Clubs
Division C
Country Clubs
Division D
Should G.R.N.S.W determine to reclassify any club, any performance occurring after the effective date
of such change, will be allocated the points value which applies to the new classification for that club.
The system will ONLY allocate points to greyhounds that place lst, 2nd or 3rd including dead heats, in
official races at track in any state or territory of Australia.
NO points will be awarded for Qualifying or Performance Trails.

The following points table will apply to performances in all Maiden and Graded Races, during the
period of the M.G.O.T.Y. Competitions.

All track and their respective categories are listed below and must be followed.
Only races and race series which are included in the A.G.R.A. Group Race calendar will be
recognised as feature races.
Performances by greyhounds in all heats and semi Finals of a Group 1, 2 or 3 race series, will be
allocated the same points value as performances achieved in Standard Race Programming above.
Placegetters in Group 1, 2 and 3 race finals will only be allocated total points for that performance in
accordance with the following table.
Group Race performance must be lodged on the same submission form (C)
If both Owner & Trainer of the greyhound have submitted points through their respective branches in
the M.G.O.T.Y. competition the award will be Split evenly and presented to the Owner & Trainer of the
greyhound as long as the members have meet the requirements of the M.G.O.T.Y. competition.
All winners’ cheques for the M.G.O.T.Y. will be made payable to the respective winning owner/s and
trainers, and in the case of the Branch Awards, to the respective branches.
Members are reminded that these categories are in place to recognise the achievements of the
greyhounds, not the Owner/s or the Trainers of the greyhounds

RACE STATUS
The GBOTA Members Greyhound of the Year Committee is responsible for the administration of the
M.G.O.T.Y. competition, including the determination of what awards if any are presented and the level of
any material or other remuneration, which may be given, as a consequence.
Members are encouraged to continue to submit points earned up to and including November Branch
meetings.
Members are not required to forward points from any performances after December 1st; these points will be
captured by the Committee.
The Committee's decisions are FINAL and no correspondence will be entered into.
