JOB SPECIFICATION
1.
Summary of the broad purpose of the position in relation to the organisation's
goals:
This position is responsible for providing high-level project management, co-ordination and
teaching implementation and support for the introduction of flexible/adaptive learning
technologies/methodologies within SA Ambulance Service. This position will also be
accountable for contributing to the liaison with other SA Health flexible/adaptive learning
technologies/methodologies to ensure a compatible and complimentary provision for the
wider health agencies across South Australia. This will include representing the General
Manager Educational Services in relevant SA Health discussion forums and in particular, in
Information technology decision making forums.
The incumbent will need excellent knowledge of contemporary adaptive/flexible learning
technologies, high level submission development skills, high level communication skills and
the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders in order to develop a whole
of Health flexible/adaptive delivery approach to training.

The incumbent:

Statement of Key Result Areas and Activities
Key Result Area: Development and implementation of flexible learning options
Achieved by the following activities:

Project manage key projects/initiatives to ensure the introduction of adaptive learning
systems that are capable of providing support for both clinical and corporate training
throughout South Australia. This includes the development of business cases based
on research to identify optimal solutions to business needs and the inclusion of
sound financial implication data.

Develop and lead initiatives in education and training that are informed by the SA
Ambulance Service (SAAS) Strategic Plan and the SA Health Strategic Plan and are
congruent with initiatives emerging from with the Central & Northern Adelaide Health
Services (CNAHS) Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to ensure collaborative
development of products and services.

Develop and maintain a sound working relationship with SA Health ICT Services via
the SA Ambulance Service ICT Business Account Manager and ensuring that SA
Health ICT Policy and Procedures are followed an implemented both in the
development and delivery phases of any new products or processes.

Develop and maintain project budgets.

Prepare regular and adhoc reports for management.

Represent the General Manager Educational Services on working parties and in
particular, in ICT forums.

Provide leadership and training to SAAS Educational Services staff to enable the
transition of existing learning materials to a flexible learning framework approach.

Develop, teach and evaluate training programs for staff to ensure they have
competence in using introduced teaching adaptive/flexible methodology initiatives.

Ensure compliance to Australia Qualifications Framework (AQF) requirements and
Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Standards where applicable

Key Result Area: Development of a client centred and innovative training approach
utilizing flexible delivery options.
Achieved by the following activities:

Hold and maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in relation to current and
emerging delivery methodologies and adaptive learning technologies.

Recommend a variety of delivery strategies that best suit the learners with respect to
access and educational effectiveness within applicable financial constraints.

Undertake high level stake holder consultation. Coordinate, collate and report
feedback from stakeholders regarding work undertaken in projects and on-going
evaluations of new initiatives.

Provide leadership and training in the new technologies to SAAS staff across the all
regions and work with CNAHS RTO to ensure a cost effective and collaborative
approach is utilised to enhance clinical and corporate training across SA Health.

Facilitate project meetings, consultation forums and briefing sessions as required
thorough project lifecycles.

Prepare regular and adhoc reports and briefings to the Senior and Executive
management teams as required.

Attraction of external funding to assist in the introduction and
development of adaptive learning technologies.
Achieved by the following activities:

Hold and maintain an awareness of the variety of government grants and alternative
funding support available to assist industries to develop adaptive learning
technologies and flexible learning methodologies and prepare timely and appropriate
submissions to access these funding sources.

Develop and maintain a collaborative approach with applicable partners to develop
submissions to access these funds and resources, where appropriate.

Analyse complex data that may impact on SAAS’ service provision and present in a
succinct manner to enable decision making by key stakeholders.

Develop policies and procedures as required in relation to projects and service
improvement initiatives.

Assist with the development and continuous improvement of team processes,
procedures and systems.

Assist in the evaluation of proposed new teaching equipment and methodologies

Contribute to the well-being of people in South Australia through participation in
Counter Disaster activities including attendance, as required, at training programs
and exercises to develop the necessary skills required to participate in responses in
the event of a disaster and/or major incident.
