Information, Signposting and Marketing Officer
HOURS OF WORK:
32 hours per week
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
SALARY:
Hay Scale Grade 8 Pt 27-30: £22,269- £24,704 pa pro
rata

Aims of the Post:
1.
Develop, update and maintain databases, websites and social media
presence
2.
Receive and respond to all requests for information and signposting relating to
the service
3.
Receive all new telephone requests for advocacy services and forward
appropriately, adding draft prioritisation scores where applicable
4.
Deliver inclusive events and training, ensuring that they reach equalities and
seldom heard groups as required
5.
Develop and maintain tailored publicity and information to promote equality in
health and social care, foster good relations, promote and market The Care
Forum and its services both to organisations and to the general public

Support the development and provision of a versatile and inclusive research
and evaluation function at The Care Forum

Support the provision of intelligent data that service users and providers can
access and use to commission, scrutinise and improve services both at The
Care Forum and across health and social care provision in the region

Ensure the development and maintenance of effective stakeholder and
customer relationships which promote equality and diversity.
1.
Promote inclusive volunteering in health, social care and wellbeing at The
Care Forum and beyond and support the contribution of volunteers in
information and research.
Main tasks:
1. Development of communications, websites and social media presence
1.1.
Work with other staff to foster good partnership working with existing and
emerging partnerships
1.2.
Write and publish regular information briefings, newsletters and ebulletins
1.3.
Produce high-quality, regular and ad hoc reports, publications, research
briefings, newsletters, ebulletins, web content and social media presence
suitable for a range of audiences using a range of media
1.4.
Support the development of new communications systems and media, webbased applications, platforms and programmes for The Care Forum’s services
in such a way as to promote equality of access and wide awareness
1.5.
Research and update local, regional and national services in the health and
social care field, including initiating and conducting desk-based research to
add new information, contacting new services and liaising with The Care
Forum´s staff
1.6.
Support organisations both to provide information for the database and to use
it effectively
1.7.
Maintain contacts databases
1.8.
Develop, format and update the content of websites, their databases and
portals, and social media platforms, as required by the needs of
commissioners and users and in line with established standards of
accessibility
1.9.
Provide project monitoring information as required.
2. Information provision and advocacy requests
2.1.
Ensure that information provided by the service is in an accessible format

2.2.
Respond to requests for information from the general public and
professionals, key stakeholders and voluntary and statutory organisations
through assessing needs and researching the database and other sources
2.3.
Provide telephone coverage for the signposting and information service
2.4.
Maintain records and provide monitoring information of the usage of the
website, telephone service and social media websites and platforms as
required
2.5.
Receive and log all new telephone requests for advocacy support, identifying
and assessing which type of advocacy is required
2.6.
Forward new advocacy support requests to appropriate advocates, adding
draft prioritisation scores where applicable.
2.7.
Keep informed of new developments of web-based applications, platforms
and programmes that can help disseminate information better either in the
website or about the service and to use these new developments in order to
produce targeted information in different formats for service users.
3.
Marketing
3.1.
Assist with organising and co-ordinating events locally and regionally,
including booking rooms, equipment and catering for events to raise
awareness and market The Care Forum’s services
3.2.
Assist with setting up and liaison with visitors for events, including in external
settings across the region
3.3.
Produce and disseminate tailored publicity and marketing materials aimed at
a wide variety of different audiences in the fields of health, social care and
wellbeing
3.4.
Promote community engagement and the volunteer programme, advocacy,
signposting, research and information and other services through a range of
appropriate media
3.5.
Engage in a structured manner with primary, secondary, further and higher
health, social care and education providers, voluntary and statutory
organisations, community groups and centres, local businesses and service
providers
3.6.
Working with other staff, proactively engage with the press and broadcasting
media, and produce press releases as necessary
3.7.
Skillfully employ and target different media, such as the internet, web, social
media, blogs, printed material, events and training to reach the full range of
equalities and seldom heard groups.

4.
Support the provision of The Care Forum’s project monitoring, research
and evaluation functions
4.1
Work with other staff to foster good partnership working with existing and
emerging research partnerships
4.2
Support the provision of intelligent evidence of the impact of The Care
Forum’s services, and promote its use in the development of evidence-based
practice at The Care Forum and amongst its member and partner
organisations
4.3
Support the research and evaluation co-ordinator in ensuring that agreed
standards, projected outputs, targets and outcomes for research and
evaluation are achieved in line with The Care Forum’s aims and objectives
4.4
Support the effective delivery of The Care Forum’s project monitoring data
and reporting cycles in line with the organisation’s mission to increase health
equality

Provide project monitoring information as required

Support the development of new research and evaluation infrastructure and
systems

With colleagues, implement and review the research and evaluation
programmes at The Care Forum
4.8
Working with colleagues, collect, record, analyse and interpret qualitative and
quantitative data, including stories and anecdotes, from a wide range of
sources (such as the GP patient and participation groups, community
consultation exercises, specialist service user focus groups, clinical and social
care practitioners, online surveys and service monitoring reports) to create a
body of evidence that officers and lay representatives can deploy strategically
to improve services and reduce health inequality

confidentiality policies and national research ethics requirements and
guidelines.
