Common Myths about Catholic Schools

You have to be a member of St. Mary’s Church to attend School at
St. Mary’s.
FALSE: You do not have to be a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church to
benefit from the opportunities offered at St. Mary’s School.

 FALSE: St. Mary’s School accepts children and families from
any religious background and teaches Christian Social Principles

Income-Based Scholarship Program
Attend St. Mary’s School in Leipsic
New K-12 Scholarship program for students
from working class families.
Students eligible for $4,250 per year if:
- Starting Kindergarten or Grade 1 in the Fall of 2014
- Family income is at or below 200% of federal poverty
guidelines
(example: $47,000 for a family of 4)
I live out of school district and would have to drive my student to
St. Mary’s School.
FALSE: Open enrollment guidelines require local school districts to
provide bus transportation from all school districts within 30 miles of
St. Mary’s School.
 St. Mary’s does not have extracurricular or sports programs.
