Fluency Practice: Reading with Emotion Game Board Created by Big Ideas in Teaching Note to Teachers: Fluent readers are able to read orally with speed, accuracy, and proper expression. Fluency is one of several critical factors necessary for reading comprehension. This board game is a useful tool that allows students to practice reading fluently and expressively. This game is also super easy to use with any reading level! You may use fluency phrase cards, passage or sentences that you already are using in your classroom. Each group will need one game board and one spinner. The spinners are 4 per page for less copying. Hope your students enjoy the game and become expressive, fluent readers! Happy Reading, Emily Directions: 1. Place your game pieces on start. 2. When it is your turn, spin the spinner and move the correct number of spaces. 3. Take a phrase or passage card from the pile. 4. Read the card using the expression from the space you landed on. 5. If the other players agree with your expression you will stay on the space. If the other players disagree with your expression you will move to the space your were on before. 6. Continue playing until a player reaches Finish!
