 STOW PARK LAWN TENNIS CLUB CHAIRPERSON ROLE Team Captain /Vice Captain
Role
Team captains play a hugely important role for the place to play. They are supported closely by the
vice captain, and when the team captain is not available the Vice captain performs the role. They work
closely with the club coaches in the day to day running of the team tennis representing the place to
play. Successful teams are often captained by parents with support from the head coach at your place
to play. However, AEGON Team Tennis may be parents only exposure to team competition in the year
and having helpful resources available will help improve the experience for all involved.

• Diplomatic and helpful
Roles and Responsibilities
• To have responsibility for the day to day management of Team the place to play
• To develop good working relationships with key personnel i.e. Head Coach
• Responsible for team selection with the assistance of the club coach
• Organises transport
• Organise refreshments
• Books courts
• Checks player availability
• Liaise with opposition team
• Submits results
• Act as a spokesperson for the Team creates match reports for the website news
Estimated Time Commitment
10 management committee meetings per annum, 1 AGM, County AGM, other meetings as required
2 – 3 hours per week throughout the year
Key Relationships
Coach, Chair of Tennis, Management committee, Opposing team POC, Place to play Sponsor, LTA,
County LTA Office.
