Paper is going the way of the DVD, but you still need to print out the occasional work document, digital concert ticket
or online form. With your Chromebook, wireless printing to a networkattached or cloudready
printer is just a matter of switching on a few settings, thanks to the Chrome Web browser and
Google Cloud Print. This Webbased interface connects to the desk printer at home and the
executive laser printer at work — and lets you choose which device prints the file. Your printing
— no matter how seldom — gets done fast and easy. Here’s how to set it up. 1

Hi there, great article.
I added the printers from my old laptop (which has chrome, and I was signed in, could
see the printers etc.), and they are visible on my Chromebook.
However when I click ‘print’ from the menu in chrome, all I get is ‘save’, No printers
show up to choose from.
Do you know what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks but no help it all… Basically the same thing the google chromebook says and
it doesnt work. I have an HP all in 2542 wireless network printer using the same WiFi
and internet connection through my Verizon Fios… When I click “Add traditional
printer” it takes me back to the same screen with the dumb instructions to add classic
printer . My screen does not auto change or detect the printer even when I plugged it
using the USB cable !!!! This was the worst investment ever!! I shouldve known the
price was too good. If I wanted a google tablet I would have bought the samsung
galaxy tablet 3. This chromebook would be great for my 10 year old to play games
,music and social network but for an adult student this is CRAP.. a joke… I cannot
print… If I wanted to drive all the way to Kinkos/FedEx to eprint I wouldve saved my
$250 and just used their PC too… This product sucks, dont spend your money !

I am planning to buy a chrome book. I have a HP F4488 deskjet printer (connects by
USB only). I do NOT have any other device to install or configure cloud print. But, I
have a DSL modem with a USB port. With the above set up is it worth buying the
chrome book?? I need to print occasionally.

I just purchased a Samsung M2020W Cloud compatible printer that works with my
Chrome computers, BUT not in Duplex mode. The Duplex option is not on the menu!
Samsung support tells me that Duiplex option is NOT available on Google Cloud Print
utility, but I see it in this article! Should I upgrade my Google Cloud Print utility?

I made the mistake of buying an acer chrome laptop.
It works ok except the stupid machine will not print to my Canon MP100 printer either
through Wi‑Fi or USB connection.
What halfwit decided not tu have a standard print function?

I have wasted hours of my life trying to get my Samsung Chrome to send files to my
(non‑cloud) printer. I’ve followed all the instructions and it all seemed to work. Then,
all I can do is to SAVE the file on Google Drive, but the bloody thing will not PRINT. A
sodding nightmare. I notice that people on this site were reporting the same problem
2 years ago. It has not been fixed as far as I can tell.

DO NOT BUY A CHROMEBOOK. IT IS VERY DIFFICUILT TO GET IT TO PRINT, IN THE
FIRST PLACE YOUR PRINTER MUST BE WIRELESS,
