WORKSHOP WEEKENDS
Plan to be in Amherst and be available for meetings/working sessions with our resident
guest artists. These weekends are a very important part of our work.
In general, you should reserve the following times related to our weekend work:
-
Sometimes Thursday dinners at 5:15 will be scheduled to welcome our guests
Sometimes Friday afternoons from 2 -6 pm will be used to work with guests
Sometimes Saturdays from 10-4 will be used for workshops
Sometimes Sundays will be used from 4-10PM for workshops
Each residency will have considerable variety in the scheduling. The above times are for

AFTER APRIL 18
Once our performance is done and we have met for wrap-up discussion, we will no
longer meet at our regular time. This breathing space at the end of the semester should
give you a chance to finish your other courses with flying colors.
Hands-on is what this course requires. You will be encouraged to keep a journal of your
experiences and to submit an evaluation, including reflections culled from your journal.
This evaluation is as much for us to understand how well this experience worked for you
as for your own consolidation of the work. The evaluation is due on May 3 and likely
would be 5-7 pp.
POLICIES
As with any production, you are expected to be there as “called” by our schedule for all
classes and related events. Out of consideration for your fellow directors and colleagues,
you must notify us if you are going to be late or absent. Those occasions should be rare
and related to true emergencies.
