Remember the words of Diane Loomans “If I Had My Child Over Again?” She said it like this, but I want to change a couple of words ---If I had my child (LIFE) to raise (LIVE) all over again, I’d finger paint more, and point the finger less, I’d do less correcting, and more connecting. I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes. I would care to know less, and know to care more. I’d take more hikes and fly more kites. I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play. I’d run through more fields, and gaze at more stars. I’d do more hugging, and less tugging. I would be firm less often, and Affirm much more. I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later. I’d teach less about the love of power, And more about the power of love. st 1 graders love to read!first grade students will gain reading Throughout strategies needed to build a strong foundation to carry them through their educational career. They will have endless opportunities to practice and develop their reading strategies in the classroom through independent reading and small group guidance. We hope to instill in your child a strong reading foundation and a love of reading. Using effective and efficient strategies, students make decisions, select tools, solve problems, and communicate their understanding of mathematical concepts. http://cms.springbranchisd.com/curriculuminstruction/CIHome/Departments/Mathematics/tabid/28208/Default.aspx 1.
