Cooperation Agreement

Objectives
(1)
The agreement is intended to promote cooperation and academic exchange between
the institutions mentioned above and thereby to foster teaching and research in these
institutions in the areas of ______________________________________________.
The partners seek to further international orientation and understanding among their
students and faculty.
Scope of the program
(2)
The cooperation extends to common research. This may include the organization of
workshops and conferences on themes of common interest.
(3)
The exchange is open to:
- Undergraduate students and students on the graduate level.
- Faculty.
Operation of the program
(4)
Selection of students:
Both partners will decide on the selection of applicants on the basis of their academic
achievements, language proficiency, and research projects as specified in a statement
of interest.
(5)
Selection of faculty:
Procedures for the selection of faculty will be established subsequent to further
investigations concerning appropriate and feasible mechanisms for handling faculty
salaries.
Privileges and funding
(6)
_____________________ (partner univ.) offers a 100% waiver of tuition fees for
students participating in the exchange program, access to courses, library privileges,
computer, internet, and email access, and assistance in locating housing. The number
of students from Bielefeld studying each year at _________________will be determined
based on interest and the availability of space and support.
Bielefeld University offers personal tutoring by one or several faculty members, free
language courses for students participating in the program, access to the course
programs, library privileges, computer, internet, and email access, and assistance in
locating housing, preferably in student dormitories.
(7)
Exchange students shall obtain credit for their work. Normally, the program of studies
will be in ________________________________ or appropriately related fields. Course
selection will be subject to approval by the host institution.
(8)
At Bielefeld University students have to pay a semester fee that is currently at € 276,80.
(9)
Travel costs and living expenses of exchange students are not borne by the respective
host institution.
(10)
Each student will be required to provide proof of health insurance coverage while at the
host institution.
Duration
(11)
The agreement is established for a period of five (5) years, starting from the date of the
last signature. It may be extended for another five (5) years, if the two partners agree on
the extension by written notice. The agreement may be terminated anytime in written
form at least six months in advance.
